Driving to work my mileage has been 40-43 MPG but now the samer route I'm 50-53 MPG. I take a different route home and it hasn't changed. What has changed? Fresh pavement for about half the way to work. So if smooth roads manes that much difference in Michigan why aren't they fixing more of them?

Amen on variables. Just over a month ago I had 23E09 reprogram power train done on mine and my mpg went up around 5. Maybe that helped maybe it didn't. My 12v dc monitor is now peaking 15.5-15.6 whereas before it was 15.1.but day time high temps are mostly below 80°F now. Also had to add air to tires to 36psi at 50°F but at 70 starts getting over 40psi. Who knows. Smooth roads won't hurt.

Michigan has the worst roads in the Country and Marquette County in the UP is worse than that. I get 44-46 mpg on them.

How many miles do you have? Perhaps your vehicle (and you) are learning.

I've been 46-47 mpg now I'm down to about 44.x on my XLT Lux Hybrid. The temps have dropped from when I got it a month ago (low to mid 40s bow when it was in the upper 60s and low 70s). Also, taking the TP yesterday for over 2 hours total (1 each way) didn't help much either. I'll see where it is this week as it's mostly city and town driving.
