Simply sharing a story involving a Maverick with the facts of the incident that’s all.

Not trying to make any specific points…
There will ALWAYS be the "let me post a negative comment" on anything on social media .... Jeez.

Every time I see pictures of crashed Mavericks, I wish that I had bought my new F150 instead.
Every crash is 100% different. I can post 100 photos of jacked up 150's. People have been killed in Hummers and folks have survived in Chevy Trax. Having an F150 is not inherently more safe than a Maverick. Here's a photo of an F150 where Ford was sued and the plaintiffs won 1.7 BILLION from Ford due to design defects not corrected in a fatal crash.

When they interviewed the surviving relatives they said - We wish they had bought a Maverick ...... ok not really but they could have .....

That is an F250, very different vehicle from an F150.

Yes, but...

If you'd red the article, the F250's roof design flaw exists in the F150s as well in the same time period...

Interesting state law in Georgia, quote from the article:
If punitive damages are upheld by higher courts, the Hill family and their attorneys will only get 25% of the award amount. Under Georgia law, the state gets 75% of the awards granted by the courts. The only way the plaintiffs would get the full amount of punitive damages is if there is a settlement reached between the two sides, Butler said.
The chances are that they will reach a settlement, it's in the best interest for both parties....

But the compensatory damages from loss, pain and suffering go to the victims, minus the lawyers big cut.

I don’t go looking for crashed Mavericks and really don’t give all this any thought day to day - definitely not looking to argue the point. But, the photos I‘ve seen online of crashed Mavericks still makes me wish I’d bought my new F150 instead. The Maverick is a more nimble and better in evasive maneuvers IMO, but I’d be more concerned of all the effing idiots driving the same roads as me these days. A crew cab F150 is a tank compared to these little trucks and I’m sure that doesn’t shock anyone here.

Forget the vehicle .... I hate hearing of people suffering. Just why???
It's much different since I started driving in 1984. Besides there being like 90+ million more people in the country and thus many more cars and traffic, there seems to be a bit of insanity in the past 8 years or so. This me first, gotta speed and save every second mentality. Most people drive like they are a doctor trying to hurry and get to a dying patient.

For example, yesterday I'm driving on the highway in the right lane. A car comes up on my left and matches my speed for a moment then they start speeding ahead of me and get in front of me, only to take the next exit like a quarter of a mile ahead of us. I wasn't going slow, in fact I was going between 5 & 10 mph over the 55 speed limit. I was going to take the same exit so I started slowing down to take the exit, but if I were going straight I would have had to hit my brakes when the car slowed down to take the exit. I mean what the hell is wrong with people. All they had to do was pull in behind me and take the exit behind me. I mean literally when she got in front of me, the exit was only like 15 seconds ahead. And then it turned out she was just going home and pulled into her drive way like a mile down the road. So all that BS saved her about 15 seconds. This kind of nonsense happens every time I drive now. People have to race you to get to a turn of a lane that narrows on thier side, etc. I'm seeing more and more accidents on the weekends, especially Sunday. One of the reasons I want to move out of (upstate) NY. The whole Northeast is just to crowded. Too many people, too many crazy drivers. Have to move somewhere where there are less people per square mile. Ok rant over.

Yes, my initial quote from the article stated punitive damages only. The attorneys generally do get 33% of both compensatory and punitive damages and in GA, the state takes 75% of the punitive dames award prior to the attorneys taking their 33% cut. Unless they will settle out of court, the chances are they will...

It's local, happening news for OP so I think they just wanted to share seeing the Maverick.

If you want to see a truly dumb comment, watch the end of this news video. I got curious and found a news story with video of the speeding car coming down the street, but then at the end, after all that, the reporter says "to add to all of the chaos, there was a movie shoot happening nearby". And that's how the story ends o_O. Now that's a comment that deserves to be judged.

Thanks for the link. I've been wondering about the Maverick's safety ratings, particularly how it would hold up in a rollover. Does anyone know if a rollover test has been done?

Rear ended at high speed and then hit by two additional cars in an intersection. I think the Maverick did its job pretty darn well. Prayers to all those injured. These critical car accident has the potential to change ones life and not for the better. Sad to see a Mav hit like that, but hopefully they will all survive and be okay,

Well at least you understood what they were talking about. Some print news is so bad I can't even understand what they are trying to say. I think I learned the basics of writing in 6th grade, which means a lot of reporters today are 5th grade dropouts.
