Totaled - Really ? Copart Salvage Maverick

Clicking thru the sad wrecked mavericks and saw this one -

ford don't have enough parts to build the new maverick, wait for parts to repair the wrecked one will cost too much money and will be way too long. and it's a unibody, small damage outside might hide big problem under, we can't tell that on these picture

I don't know.... Looks like some serious frame/body damage. Gone are the days of straightening the frame and putting new body panels on.

If it is a Flood vehicle, that would total it with minimal visual damage.

Usually copart would list if flood is the primary reason for totaling it but it says rear end. The more entertaining part is that it’s an XLT with an estimated value of $36k

That trailer hitch and bumper are pointed down at an angle. The rear rails have to be kinked. I bet the inner bed shows more damage.

Sadly, this reminds me of the infamous "damaged in transit' Maverick going to Gary Yeomans Ford - Daytona Beach. Of course there were no photos of that one...

Bet you the frame is bent from the way that hitch is pointing down. Once there is frame damage, depending on the kind of damage the vehicle might not be repairable to factory spec, which is required by insurance. The vehicle is required to be in as good or better condition than it was prior to the accident.

Would be a great vehicle for someone to get on the cheap as long as they never plan on towing anything.

Which reminds me...I forgot to tell you that while I was in there contemplating walking away from the Maverick I ordered because of the bend-over on the trade, I made a snide comment about "selling the truck out from underneath me" and the salesman said, "No, the Maverick is yours until you tell us otherwise."

There was the story a few years ago about the Corvette than ran over something in the road, and the object just happened to nick a structural joint on the underside of the car, and after some back and forth between Chevy and the insurance company, the whole car was totaled despite no visible damage at all
