Wouldn't that, be a Bronco?
The Mav (and the concept) has a longer wheelbase, so a smoother ride. Even longer than Escape.

No matter what the badge, it's longer (more interior capacity) and hybrid. I think there would be a market for a 40ish MPG mini three row SUV.
Thats actually not a bad point. I don't think a compact 3 row SUV exists. If the back seat folded flat you would basically have a truck with a cap. The other benefit is if you could fold both rows of seats flat, you could actually get longer stuff in your vehicle than in the Maverick. You might even end up with an 8 foot bed in a compact pickup with a cap essentially... ok I would buy that.

I would want them to keep the normal tailgate though with something like that and have the glass pop up, or if they could get it to retract into the tailgate that would be even better.

Except the Flex was expensive, inefficient, and looked pretty weird.

Yep. Being able to haul 2 adults and 4 kids or 35 bags of 40 pound mulch--while fitting in a small garage and saving $100/mo on gas versus a larger SUV-- would be desirable to a lot of people.

For the back. You do what early suburbans did. Offer two options. A tailgate+glass or a more traditional SUV back swing up door (although the suburbans offer two swing out doors).

Nope Bronco Sport and Escape have shorter wheelbase.... Wish the Bronco Sport had a longer wheelbase since it crunches the rear seats currently.

There was a report somewhere (not sure of the accuracy) that Ford is considering making Maverick a sub-brand. If that were true, this vehicle wouldn't be a stretch. It doesn't interest me, but I imagine a lot of folks would find it appealing, depending on the asking price.

I like it with a stowable third row seat that folds flat and has a large flat cargo area
