Oooh, man! I remember lusting severely after one of those! Only I wanted to orange one. Absolutely could NOT afford one, so I wound up building my own "equivalent" from a Huffy frame with a banana seat and high-rise bars, and putting a 3-speed hub and "stick shift" on it. Unfortunately, the frame was that "Huffy green" color, and my attempts to spray paint it orange were - um - questionable at best. I couldn't really afford the paint, so I used a can that someone had lying around. It ran out partway through, so my paint job was a weird green and orange "camouflage" look. But man, that thing would FLY!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I hope someday I'm thinking back on my first Maverick with the same fondness!
