Sideways. Looks over 6' wide.
Could be more. The length of a standard bed is about 2 in past the rear wheel slight bumpout on either side. Sleeping Bed would fit across the truck bed and need almost no supporting members if resting on Mavericks sidewalls. It looks to my trained eye ( I studied the same inspiration moonpod and the truck bed. it would fir a twin bed and enough space for your feet between tailgate and bed to sit-up. Gas mileage??
We added a Bluetti 200P power bank because we only get 5 hours of generator use in the national park, it's been a rainy day today so enjoying a "Staycation" in the camper.
So no stealth hybrid in ready mode as generator use? The amps available are 3x Pruis DC-DC can handle. I use now a simple lead acid jumpbox with a 600w A/C output ready to go. Have a 3000w inverter for power hungry items with short run times.
Park near the entrance or where other traffic sounds are heard, never been asked to turn off anything, but lights, full power day and night. Cheaper to run than a generator.
I like the OP design, but would do it your way with foam and pmf. I do have an alternative to pmf that I know better that doesn’t use foam, but need to insulate anyway.
Your art that tricks the eye is wonderful… give them a close up on the windows…. Those fooled me for the longest time.

He said 75" wide, so 6'3" wide.

Yep its 75" wide, I'm 5' 10" and used the interior dimensions of my old ranger as a guide. As part of the structure I have a 35" sleeping platform which can extend to 54." On my little 30 mi test drive I drove above 65mph and also did some solid elevation on curvy roads and received 40mpg. I estimate I lose 1-4mpg with the camper but haven't fully tested. While its obviously not super aerodynamic it doesn't alter the slipstream much and weighs about as much as a passanger. Ill take some interior photos once I finish it out a bit.

Hanging out in Shenandoah NP in our camper. Hybrid is averaging 28 mpg towing, got 94.9 mpg going down to Luray yesterday.

Perfect! Thanks for the pics. That is how I would have set it up. With foamie methods, the use of wood except for some interior tie-downs could be eliminated. And a few pounds less weight. Could you take a low pic of bed supports if any used ( I think I will not need one) and how you solved the rain blocking flow issue with the triangle like plastic trim attachment from cab/back window/ and top of side rails. That causes me most headache’s in design.

Glad I didn’t leave MTC after some vague censorship.
wish I didn’t leave my volunteering as original administrator.
This has been a great week, long time friend returns as friend, lowered my Taxes by 40k, got replies from a guy I’ve been following for a few years and didn’t even know he has a Maverick, or was here. And some else built a camper shell with the same functional shape as I wanted. Its so hard to visualize enclosed spaces for me, this is so great.

I didn't really solve the the rain channel between the rear of the cab and the front window, I did contemplate constructing a prow or widows peak out of the XPS foam and decided against it to keep the design simple. It will be sealed and I did read that those that bought the leer camper didn't have water issues. I did create a 2 inch step to go over the plastic side rails so the camper is angled from the cab and the base of the camper is a right angle. I can take a photo of that. The bottom is treated with bedliner. There is no bed supports because I integrated the bed platform into the design for strength so its 3/4 ply and accounts for a majority of the weight. The frame is 3/4 ply skeleton and skinned in 1/4 birch. You can see the front tie downs - truck clamp and a tie down strap. I looked to the nomadica moonlander for geometry and Jay Nelson for inspiration.

Yep, I figure 3/4 just laid across as you did would work. I did have the same or similar design idea that you used for the same reasons on the back against the rear window, but I decided to just box around the triangle and make it appear to have about 3 inches of more internal space. And using foams ez cutting to overlap with minimal gap across the top and sides of truckcab then fill that gap with a handlebar like mustache shape seal. There by keeping the rain from falling between window and truckbed. Reduced the problem that way. Gave away my foam during Covid-19 when asked by a friend since they don’t stock pink foam anymore in this region ( special order doesn’t even work )

Here are some photos where you can clearly see the overhang and the very unfinished interior.

Wow that's really awesome!!! I cant wait to see how you deck out the inside. I work with a lot of lightweight composite stuff in the aircraft industry. We have a floorboard composite called Gill Floor. Its balsa wood, with fiberglass laminated on both sides. About 1/2" thick it would make perfect exterior wall and roof panels for a light weight removable camper. It comes in 4x8 sheets like plywood, and can be cut, sanded fiberglassed and glued. Being it's a structural panel it can be used as the frame and the skin, and you would need only minimum framework to support it. I think if it was made longer like a slide in so with the tailgate down you had a back door on the camper, it might be a little more roomy, add about 2' to the length. The execution is great so far. I love the window placement too. Are those boat windows?
