Looks like firewood fun to me! Were you bringing it home or cleaning up around the home?
I would say the Maverick can be just about any kind of "truck" you might need short of hauling anything over capacity.Ok I know the Maverick isnโt a true or typical firewood truck but I have certainly hauled a lot of firewood with it since owning it and have always been impressed and happy with how it performs! Iโve never towed near the 4K limit due to trailer limitations but Iโm sure Iโve been slightly over payload capacity with hauling firewood in the bed a couple times. Truck is still in good shape at 31k miles despite almost every weekend having to do firewood chores. I changed the PTU, RDU, and trans fluids not long ago and all looked good. If anyone has any questions donโt hesitate to ask! Hereโs a few pics and if anyone else loves firewood (I might have an addiction) feel free to to check out my YouTube channel. Full disclosure it doesnโt have much Maverick content, yet. Craigโs Cords to Coals YouTube

Awesome, firewooding in FloridaOur yard waste day is on Wednesday . I use the maverick to pick up certain firewood depending on cut length and type of wood . Have outdoor fire pit in back yard . use it in Florida December thru March . to hot in other months . Hurricane season is good months to stock up on firewood in my rack . prefer oak but other wood also works . I know picky, picky .

I do find that you didn't notice a load very hard to believe. My "firewood" comes in boxes that say Duraflame. I hauled 20 boxes, each with 9 - six pound logs in it, home from Costco. Weight was 1080 lbs. Rear lowered about an inch. Couldn't even tell I had a load when driving.
Acceleration and braking still feel solid with a heavy load in the bed. But I agree the rear end sway/body roll when steering is noticeable. Of course though, if you drive smart itโs not a problem at all. But I agree noticeable. Iโve thought about air bags or Timbren bump stops but havenโt pulled the trigger on either yet.I do find that you didn't notice a load very hard to believe.
I like my maverick, very much. But I had about 800 or so pounds of concrete in the back, boy did the steering change.
I would move the wheel and the truck had a sway to it, like there was a delay from the front end turning, and the back end lagged behind when steering back and forth.
I had noticed it a couple of times when loaded up with weight.
Unless our trucks handle very different, I definitely feel it when I have a heavy load in the back. That's why I use a trailer for any real weight now when I can.
I'm glad I wasn't alone! I have not put over the 1200 lbs or so the bed is supposedly able handle, I feel I should upgrade first. I put the weight in the trailer, and I feel that the truck handles that much better.Acceleration and braking still feel solid with a heavy load in the bed. In realty, the bedโs too small to be a good hauler of anything
This and many other threads proves that statement is incorrect. In realty, the bedโs too small to be a good hauler of anything
I don't know about that, I hauled at least 800lbs of cut concrete slabs, have done multiple loads of fire wood, multiple loads mulch bags. Transported a deer to butcher etc... close to 1000 lbs of steel in a load.In realty, the bedโs too small to be a good hauler of anything
Because I donโt haul much these days. It fits my needs. Then why did you buy it???
