After watching the video from Tim and reading posts about late order postponements, I got a bit nervous yesterday. I'm a later October hybrid order and have a decent chance at a MY23 adjustment. I spent a few hours looking at Toyotas, Nissans, even that ugly Chevy. There really is no new truck that appeals to me. The Mav does only because it's so freaking sensible.

Just wanted to vent this among other Maverick fans and lean on y'all for support.
Breathe deep. Count to ten. Visualize nirvana.

Ford really created a winner with the Ford Maverick design...other manufacturers were less successful with their crossover small truck prototypes...

The only sensible alternative to a Maverick would be a Corolla Hybrid or Hyundai Elantra SE. Not trucks.

The cheapest good truck (Toyota Tacoma SR) is roughly 27k plus destination/delivery/tax/license/registration (you're looking at 32-33 thousand). And it gets horrible MPG for what it is. And good luck trying to find one or find a dealer that will take the order. Toyota dealers only like selling the 38k offroad models.
This. We were cross-shopping corolla hybrid, prius, and possibly mazda 3 when the Maverick was announced. If pricepoint and fuel efficiency are major considerations, there are no alternatives. Another June '21 order, crossing fingers that the truck is sitting in our driveway by June '22 (currently scheduled for build March 28).

I ordered oct 26th. Have heard nothing and never received a congrats email. I have confirmed with ford that my order is fully vetted but this wait is just unbearable. I understand the chip shortage because it also affects my job as well but I cant really keep pushing a nearly 20 year old town car the way I am. Contacted my dealer and am now in the process of getting a bronco sport for the price of my mav order. Maybe in the future I'll own a mav but for now I gotta make a move before my mercury does.

For over a year, I shopped for the perfect vehicle—and I never found it. That is, until the Maverick was announced. I placed my order in June, and picked it up just before Christmas. It truly is everything that I wanted, even if it took a year and a half to get it!
We shopped for about 6-8 months before the Maverick was announced. Ordered 7/9, built 2/10, shipped 2/11 (today).

If I were to see this in person.......a conversation is had with the owner. Way too much going on to not get in that person's head.

My patience is way more thin with the forum than with the truck. I ordered this truck during the first week of October, knowing it was a new model introduction in the middle of an extreme and unprecedented supply chain crisis.

I have not called Ford Marketing or complaint line. I don't even like talking on the phone, why would I subject myself to it for literally no reward? I don't email the dealer or the salesman. In 4 months I have talked to the dealer 1 time since the original order.

I want the Maverick. I look forward to the Maverick. But it isn't going to change my life. And I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the ever-increasing volume of complaining on the forum about everything. Lots of these people are driving themselves crazy trying to game the system, wasting their time on the phones and blowing up the emails of dealers who can't help them. And wasting ours by constantly threatening to shop elsewhere - as if any of us really care.

I can't be the only person on this forum feeling quite disillusioned with it all, but I should have known - Americans have an almost unquenchable thirst for instant gratification. It's what we're used to.

If I decide not to wait for my Maverick I might pay a little more for a Camry, Accord, or Sonata hybrid. More room than the smaller cars and better fuel economy than the Maverick.

For me and what I am looking for the Maverick bests all the mid sizers. I am looking for a 'truck' that gets decent MPG and has a decent rear seat.

Well ... yeah ... hang in there....

I have been driving my '99 Ranger for over 20 years now, and will continue to until my Hybrid Maverick arrives (Summer?). In fact, if my wife could drive a manual, maybe I wouldn't want to have a different "second car" (my Ranger=second car) ...

Wait! ... NO! ... a new truck, 42 mpg city, appealingly designed utility package at an affordable cost ... that my wife could drive too !!

So, I told her I didn't really have a choice ... had to order a Maverick so she has a back-up vehicle!

Yeah, ... I'll wait for the Maverick, too ....

Lots of options if compromise is in your vocabulary and you use current market conditions.
When I ordered my 2022 AWD 2.0 Lariat lux FX4 with tow package November 1st, given the expected 6 month delivery and the quoted price it was and is the obvious choice.
However that was then and this is today. Delivery is but a fantasy and the quoted cost is no longer available. mine I think is locked in but I’ve seen adds for trucks on order the same as mine for 10g more (and how long will these customers wait for those…).
At that new price point, with no reliable delivery schedule, a world of options opens up.
Hopefully mine gets delivered by late spring because by summer I’m driving a new ride.
The Hyundai is on the lot…
The Hyundai Santa Cruise entry-level is 24K If it got better than average 22 mpg I mighta jumped ship
