I believe many are waiting on a certain chip regardless of trim/options. The whole automotive industry is impacted by the current chip shortage.
sure, likely some are but the good thing is that the hard work - manufacturing the vehicles - isn't being delay by the shortages and when the chips do arrive then they do the easy install of them and they're on the way to the trains. Be different if they were all lacking engines or batteries....

Manufacturing the vehicles not being delayed? That's debatable, but delivery delays of the finished product isn't. Just read about every other thread on here. Some people went from February/March deliveries to May. Most of what I've seen is the current chip shortage "might" improve in the 2nd half of this year.

I agree if you're willing to throw the dice and see how things pan out for a really good price. I was lucky to find a large dealer willing to honor X-plan and received a production date within 2 weeks.
2 weeks for a production date, after getting your email Confirmation on order? What did you order?

This is Ford. This is the way it has been. Ford does care; they want to do it right. They want to earn profits to pay shareholders dividends. They want to please customers. They just can't. They do design and make fine vehicles; they just fail at planning and pleasing buyers.

What is the percentage of new vehicle introductions that Ford screws up somehow? Can anyone think of one they have done well recently? How many different versions of F-150, the very most important vehicle they have had for maybe 50 or so years, has Ford screwed up at introduction somehow? Maverick and Bronco are little niche vehicles; the chance for a successful introduction of either was very small and Ford has confirmed my cynicism.

They did do the Mustang well in 1964 and the original Maverick in 1970. Probably the Taurus in 1986 (but screwed up the 2nd generation of that car and destroyed a great brand name). What have they done right lately?

And another niche vehicle whose introduction Ford screwed up was the fabulous retro T-Bird. You couldn't get them (or even sit in one) and then Ford couldn't sell them. They did everything wrong with the selling of that fine car.

?, It seems that all of the Mavericks baking in the Mexico sun right now might disprove the idea that the shortage hasn't gotten any worse lately. Or the fact that Ford has recently pared down production at so many of their plants.
But the paint and decals will have extra time to cure, which is a big win for people who love the auto carwash! :ROFLMAO:

The communication is the worst, my local dealer can look in their system to see what might be coming in the next month as far as trim levels, equipment packages and drivetrain. It would be nice if Ford did that through their CRM Salesforce. I blame the CRM as much as I do Ford. It shouldn't be this difficult to get an update on your build schedule. We all know the timeline has changed on a daily basis, and are not expecting anything tomorrow, but seeing a weekly projection from Ford would be nice.
