Damn, just talk to the dealership. A lot of times they check it under warranty as you barely went over. Some sort of good will - depending on the dealership.
It's not up to the dealership, it's Ford's call. If the dealer appeals to Ford, they will look up the customer's loyalty score and decide whether or not to cover it.

I was given one of those cheap ass Hypertek Walmart code readers you plug into the port.
It diagnosed my 2004 Escape with its check engine just fine.
It’s been on since I got the thing seven years ago. Runs fine.
Won’t plug into my 2024 Mav.

Possible over reaction, although.... Still a HUGE pain in the ass to have to take a new vehicle in for service. Code indicated intake manifold (plastic) had a leak. Ford said they couldn't find a leak and couldn't really explain the "false positive" so they essentially reset the error code. Time will tell! On a positive note no charge.

CEL means the car is shortly going to self destruct. Definitely get rid of it ASSP.

You know what they say about opinions..šŸ˜
It’s not really an opinion. It’s readily apparent to all you don’t know what that phrase means.

It was said "tongue-and-cheek", an attempt at sarcasm clearly lost on you. Like I said in my follow up/conclusion time will tell as we sure as shit don't know the long-term durability of the Maverick.

At one point, I had a 1984 Nissan 300 ZX Turbo. Heading down the interstate one day kinda over the speed limit, and the check engine light came on. Actually, it was a symbol that I had no idea what it was for. Went to my normal mechanic the next day. He crawled under the dash with a paper clip and asked if the light went off. I said it did. He came out and said it was what is called a DEP light. It was hooked up to the odometer. Goes on at 30k miles to get you back to the dealer. DEP stands for Dealer Extra Profit light. Turns off with a bent paper clip.
