So to most of you here, this will be the dumbest question ever coming from someone who is ordering a truck, but here goes. What should a person use to tie something down in a truck so it doesn't go flying out of a bed? All I can think of is rope or bungie cords. Is there something better for someone who barely knows how to tie a shoe?
I think learning a few good knots and a length of decent braided rope is better than trying to manage ratchet straps in most circumstances. I have both and I am more inclined to grab the rope for securing most items. Look up "trucker's hitch" and "bowline" for knots.

Ratchet straps certainly have their place but I find them fiddly and harder to store.

The screws "M6" go right thru so they are too small. I also tried the "M8" screws and do not fit. Are we sure these are a metric? Has anyone done this bedrail already. Just spent over $10 on these darn screws to find out they don't grab. I have a sprayed-on-liner so maybe that is what is impeding the screw to go in. Any thoughts from experience is appreciated.

Steel 14 Gauge. I'm on vacation but on or around 10 SEP I'll post The Bill of Materials, Supply sources, Prices, Item Bar Codes, and general instructions.
Hola,
I'm interested in these bedrail package. Can you share details and price so I can buy them? Thanks - Pipe

Ford definitely has it wrong on saying those are made for M6. I bought a 5/16 (went on but wouldn’t screw in) and an M8 screw and the M8 fit so I do believe it is an M8. I have ordered some M8 x 32mm long eye bolts and ditch the rail system for ability to strap my bungy cords for my cooler

Heads Up, Ford video says M6 bolts but thats wrong they are M8 bolts they got that wrong. I did the mod and had to go back to the store and get the M8 bolts. Also the rails could be a bit longer than 30inches but you already have a tie down in the four upper corners so they would be just a couple of inches apart so? 30 inches works fine in my truck.

Yes its the liner spray i used a thread taper gently just to clean the beginning of the treads and they are M8 bolts.

Same thing happened here. My father originally tried to put and M8 screw in quickly but didn’t work, but i slowly put it in the slot and twisted slowly (this was a day after I had the bed spray lined) and it went through. I just got the M8 eye bolts in the mail today and will test them tomorrow.

I just put the M8 x 32mm eyebolts in today and they fit extremely well. The only issues is the bolts will tighten at different spots so some look like the hole part will be horizontal and so vertical. One thing I did to even this was to put some thin washers (5/16 will work for these). These eyebolts are not found in stores but I found them on amazon.

Excellent. These won’t effect the rails for a tonneau cover, correct?
