I received a VIN for my 2023 Maverick XL (did not expect it). For some reason I totally misread the Co-Pilot 360 additions and did not have it on my order. I'm not really concerned, but sucks my mirrors wont be powered. I have the question out to my dealer, but I'm sure I can't add it at this point. I know I could change color if ford accepts the change, but 1% unsure about the co-pilot 360.

As my dealer cautioned me, it is not worth trying to screw with an order that has a VIN. Risks are too high. I agreed with him and love my Hybrid!

Kind of what I figured. I’m the only driver so it’s not that big of deal. Yeah I can’t wait to drive it! Finally a truck made for my lifestyle… got the hybrid as well 👍🏻

Since you have a VIN for one of the true unicorns (XL Hybrid), just treasure it. I loaded my Lariat up and dangled the extra profit in front of Ford and they finally built it after 491 days.

Yeah for sure, I will. Yeah I do not agree with how Ford has handled everything, it's madding for us all. I do consider myself beyond lucky, minus the fact I will have another truck sitting in the garage wasting $2000 in payments until the lease is up. I would have waited until then, but never no if I would even get a MYMAv24 in time or at all......A price to pay during these unprecedented times

Yeah, the dealer finally got back to me as well. They said even if they change it, it would most likely get rejected or push it out of production. No power mirrors is not that big of deal, especially since i'm really the only driver (wife once and a great while, but she'll do her best to not drive it since I have no luxurious features like her car :) )

I'm old school, but if I can't connect my phone forget it lol.

Every sad tale I read here, and I expect we haven't seen the height of frustration yet, makes me appreciate how lucky I am to have one, equipped as I wanted.

It should not have been this hard or uncertain, and Ford should never have allowed over-ordering as they did. They took too many 2022 hybrid orders by 11/21 when they stopped ordering for them, and they also apparently took too many EB orders when they stopped ordering for them in 1/22. Then they didn't seem to see the very same things happening in 9/22 until way too late.

Telling people that the Hybrid was over-ordered by 20,000+, but not identifying who the 20,000+ non-builds are (for 9 months or longer so far) is really incredible. Do they think they are somehow holding on to customers and loyalty? Seems to me the reverse is happening. It would be far more acceptable to have learned last September that you missed out, rather than letting those 20,000+ keep false hope for all this time.

I added the assist and SIBL after I got my VIN and did not lose my place for build (it was just shipped last week). The dealer told me I couldn’t but I asked him to try. Just make sure your dealer gives you a higher priority if you don’t already have one.

I just changed colors and switched from drop-in bed liner to spray-in bed liner with bed utility discount package last month. Yes, this was AFTER I got a VIN and build week.

Look, I have now changed TWO different orders after getting VINs. There is literally no risk, because the system will either accept the change or reject it. Either way, your place in line is held. In other words, if Ford doesn't want to allow the change, the computer won't allow the amendments, and nothing changes with your order. If they do accept the changes, you still have a VIN and a build week. And yes, your build week could change, but that is true regardless of your order details. Ford moves people around all the time, and it may or may not have anything to do with your order details.

Bottom line: if you REALLY want the CP360, at least ask your dealer to log into the order system and ATTEMPT to submit the changes. Worst thing that can happen is computer rejects the modifications and you stick with what you've got.

P.S. When I asked my dealer to make the changes on the most recent order on the day I received the build date, the computer told him that he could make changes because the vehicle had just been scheduled for production (as in, that day). However, he tried again a week later and they went through no problem, and showed up almost immediately on the Ford order tracker where I can track things.

Not too late as several of us made changes successfully.
I heard color is the only thing that can easily be changed after a vin is issued.
