Mabett Side marker Lights

Hi - I attached some photos. I did a complete write up in the thread related to side marker lights. Key points:
-No need to remove the emblem to drill the 3/4" hole. Use a sharp paddle bit.
-Test the LED's using a 9v. batter as you go to detect any wiring/connection issues.
-The lens is made by gadcad3D. He is an etsy seller.
-Wait to drill the hole until you have the lens because you must make a templete to locate the hole using the indent in the back side of the lens.
-I used 3M 1/4" auto grade emblem tape to secure the lenses. I cut the tape at my workbench using a sharp razor and made corners abut. So far, no moisture issues.
-Use auto grade fabric electrical tape, NOT the shiney stuff.
-It takes about 15' total of 3 wire 24 guage stranded wire cable to do both sides. No need for heavy wire.

Did mine the same way, but did drill a small hole in bottom of the amber cover “just in case“ it did get water in it.

Well after 2 1/2 months the second @MABETT passenger side marker is pretty much a goner. While some have had somewhat positive experiences, I cannot articulate the utter disgust I now feel.

I will be replacing these with @Oscarcat’s solution.

Just my advice.
Halt the sales of these side lights, until you have re-engineered them to be waterproof, or is it just a quality control issue?
In either case, is it worth your reputation to not improve your product. You have a good concept.
You have been told where it is weak. Focus on it and have great product, you can be proud of.

Thanks for your kind advide. We have been working on this matter since we received many reports of inside water issue. At the moment, we know that not all lights are problematic. The issue likely lies in a production process. What I can promise is that for the faulty lights, we can offer a refund or replacement.

Here you go. I bought some Amber lights from Amazon and tied them into the turn signal so they will flash .

Did you drill a hole in the clear 3d lens also? Thanks

Well...8 months and the drivers side failed....it would cycle continuously and never stop so I unplugged it. I noticed it also had water in it. I then checked the pass side and noticed it was also half full of water.

Replaced with another set off Amazon for half of what I paid 8 months before. Rewired and both working but I doubt they will last even a year. When they fail I will yank out this Chinese junk and replace with something else. If auto manufacturers had lights of this quality they would be out of business.

Speaking of this side blinker mod. What are the wire colors for the driver side blinker and passenger side blinker?
