Has anyone figured out how to wire these to the fuse box (if possible). I'd rather not use the supplied connectors.

I recently purchased the Mabett lights.

I'm curious about the wiring instructions for the lights. Are they designed to be on at all times while driving?

Ideally, I would like them to function similarly to the side marker lights, turning on only after dark.

Is there a specific wiring configuration needed to achieve this functionality?

Wiring digram is wrong and you probably got bad set of lights lots of threads on those markers I got a pair and set them back. Goodluck

Follow the directions provided and you'll have them on when your low beams are on and they'll flash with the turn signals. I did the driver's side first and tested it, then I did the same wires on the passenger side and tested it. No issues since I installed them a couple of months ago.

You "could" wire the headlights-on to the fusebox, but the turn signals are activated by a computer (inside the dashboard?)

Question for those who have installed the side market lights AND the amber lens: In hindsight, do you think one can do the install without taking the black trim piece off the fender?

I ask because, peering into the fender with the hood open and then from the open driver's door, it appears you could drill a hole from the outside, install the grommet, push the LED and the wiring through the grommet from the outside, grab the wires from inside the fender and connect the wires. Then glue on the amber lens?

Does it sound like this will work, saving the step of prying off and reinstalling the black trim piece?

That's the way I did it, no problem. I'm waiting on lens from GadCad.

Then wire it to the middle pin of the turn signal connector-- that should be on with parking light function on XL and XLT. Or connect to the sidemarker.

These light up at full-power for the Parking/DRL function. It's an obnoxious design flaw. I'd recommend you include an inline resistor on that Parking/DRL wire so it will dim down when you're not turning.

RE: Amber lens, do they glue on or do they come with double sided tape?

Then, with a long-life LED, it should be good for a few years? I intend to wire to my turn signals, not the DRL's or side marker lights. That way, heat buildup from always-on bulbs shouldn't be a factor.

My understanding is, that on a Lariat, I can use LED's without the need to change any settings using Forescan. Do you have any knowledge regarding this? Based on your experience, am I considering the relevant factors? Anything else that in hindsight you can think of?
Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge!

You don't need resistors. I used the two way LEDs (3 wire), the lenses are just lenses, no adhesive.

RE: GadCad = I can't find that - it defaults to GrabCAD. However, I did not see a way to order any lenses on GrabCAD. Suggestions?

Any other ready-made source for lenses to cover the opening?

Wish: I wish Ford had designed the side emblem such that we could use the side marker assembly, drill a hole for the wires and snap or glue it in. Ford, are you listening? I made a template of the side marker to see if the profile would fit into the recess in the side emblem but it was not the same, close though.
