Nope, must be a Hybrid thing. My 24 XLT looks like this on the ds. Could also be a Chinese thing since mabbitt is in China, and they have a Maverick. I'm sure there might be requirements different for China than here in the US.

Yeah as I mentioned earlier mabbitt is in China so they may have a different muffler setup due to China requirements.

Great job! I posted a thread on April 6, 2022 (Custom Fabricated Cover) for this issue with photos and size but you've taken it to a much better level than I had done. Congratulations. I had made it for my 2022 hybrid that I since sold and have a 2024 hybrid now that I need to do on it, may consider purchasing yours as opposed to my own. Highly recommend doing this, especially if you do a lot of dirt or snow driving. Other owner had posted how dirt would be noticed coming out of tail light area when he washed the truck indicating debris gathers behind the light.

If you look from the wheel well you won't be able to see it you need to be directly under the truck.

OK thanks, I didn't understand that they were not blocking the hole in the wheel well, just the underside.

I rustproof my trucks and while getting something up there may not be ideal, I haven't had any problems. My 2008 Ranger has, gasp, the same open area on both sides (oh, the horror). And the 16 winters it has survived are eastern Canadian winters. Having the open area is how pickups are made.
I use Krown, which does cost something yearly, but since the whole vehicle is being protected, I think it is worth it.
In the long term, using an aluminum panel might generate some corrosion issues due to different metals (steel and aluminum don't get along) I know this kit starts out with a nice finish, but it is not going to stay that way under there.
