2023 Hybrid XL. Every now and then when I am stopped with my foot on the brake, I get a gentle low frequency lurching. It’s like someone is rocking my bumper.

It doesn’t happen at every stop only maybe once or twice a week. I can’t seem to figure out any pattern to when it happens. I don’t use autohold if that matters.

Anyone else have this issue or have any idea what’s going on?

I use autohold, and I do get the minor lurching you describe very occasionally, and only briefly for the first traffic light of the day. It seems to me to be temperature related - not too cold, not too warm -- which suggests the software is hitting a boundary condition. Probably somewhat akin to the surging you'd get on an old car with auto choke when it wanted to turn it off to early.
I am not concerned.

Same usually on a 40-55 degree day, when engine is cold, stops after a few minutes or stop lights - I hoped pcm updates would help with it, but they have NOT, up to now...

No idea what is going on, but this happens to me as well, exactly as you describe it. I have never used autohold. I have been thinking one of the software recalls might have an update in it that will alleviate this but been holding off on those due to some of the reports here.

This used to happen in my 2015 Prius. Not as physically noticable, but I could feel it. I'm not concerned about it.

This is the same for me, the first couple minutes of driving when the truck is cold. First stop light is when it is most noticeable. I am up to date with all updates. 2023 Lariat Hybrid.

I have also felt it on my 2.5 week old MY24 and like others have said it is usually the first complete stop at a light with a cold motor.

I've definitely noticed it, but here in Nebraska it feels basically the same as just a windy day and some small gusts pushing the truck around

You will feel it the most when the motor is cold. Interesting thing is that when I release my foot off the brake, the truck doesn't jump forward, so it's really acting like my 2015 Prius did. I don't think this lurching is an issue, but more evident due to the maverick being different from the Prius.

I get the same thing, When it first started happening a month or two ago it was very disconcerting. Had the truck almost 2 years before this issue appeared

Yep, have also experienced this "issue". It doesn't seem like a problem, but I definitely have noticed this, especially on cold days.

My 2023 xlt hybrid does it too. BUT only if gas engine is running, If you put it into neutral goes away. Typically gas engine isn't running at stop light unless engine is cold. Hence many say at first stop light. Not sure if its a REAL problem or not,. I have 6200 miles Got in August 2023 .

I guess that makes sense because this transmission doesn’t have any clutches. To idle the gas engine at a standstill it needs to spin the electric drive motor backwards at just the right speed to match and it probably can’t hold the wheels dead still at 0 rpm with the engine running.

Exactly. More prominent when the engine is cold/warming up, as the RPM and torque output varies a bit, which the generator motor can't react fast enough to counter. For my '23, once the engine is warmed up, I don't notice torque surges.
