I’ve noticed my 2023 XLT has keyed anti-thief lug nuts on the wheels. And I also noticed most of the Mavericks I’ve seen have them. My question is why. I can only assume they added when vehicles completed at the factory, stored for transport. Or while in transit. That to keep the locals from stealing wheels/tires?
I work in the oil n gas industry. Long ago, on a trip to Venezuela, I noticed the wells Christmas tree are fenced in, topped with barbed wire. That to keep locals out. The well controls have stainless steel tubing for their monitoring and controls. Company operators say the locals steel the shiny tubing, cut them into short pieces, make bracelets and necklaces out of the tubing pieces, sell them. Meanwhile the wells stop producing, and the company not making money.
