LOSS of spray in liner

I'm curious how orders have exceeded availability for the spray in liner.

Is it the material or labor?
As far as I’ve heard it’s material. The plant used for said material is super back logged and was damaged in a storm last year I have been told

Order guide is correct on the XLT and Lariat Luxury Packages. Drop-in on XLT, Spray-in on Lariat.
Tim do you think because of the bedliner issue this will cause orders with the lux package to be delayed because of that? Could the spray in bedliner be the sole reason that the lux packages as a whole are constrained as well?

I’ve considered just changing to the newer lux package on my XLT just in hopes I could get it a little sooner. Then just get a spray in when it arrives.

I just changed my order and my dealer came back to me about this. I said its cool, a drop in will be fine, spray in was a nice to have. Ford is apparently offering $210 for the difference if you want to remove the drop in and go get a spray in liner somewhere. Fair. A bit bummed but if it keeps the order from being delayed that's what I'm more interested in.
Sounds like BS. Check on that one- If he's talking about the 210 dollars in Fordpass points you get that when you purchase any new Ford if you activate the in vehicle modem (Fordpass connect). That sounds like something he told you so it sounds like they made an accommodation when you get that no matter what.

I count this as a win for those of us who took the chance on first model year adoption! 😆 I can start my story about my Maverick with, "I remember when they used to offer spray-in liner for XLT" 😆

Drop in bedliner shouldn't delay it and you could go in and have the dealer switch to the other luxury package if you want.

Good to know, I was wondering that myself since it wasn't specifically called out in the order.

I just put in my order for an XLT Lux this afternoon and brought this to the dealer's attention. He was told that the XLT Lux price will drop $150 to reflect the price difference between spray-in and drop-in. There was no guarantee of this and essentially told me "it is what it is". The spec sheet I signed showed the normal lux pricing and a drop-in liner, but the dealer speculates when I get the window sticker, it'll show the lux at $150 less.

Who knows.

It is what it is....

I ordered my Lariat today and brought this up, they said it would be spray in but might delay it
SInce they are expecting it to be 6 months I can wait for it (there was no money off to remove it from the Lux package and I didn't want to pay for it twice.... kinda prefer the non Ford logo liner, but just leaving it alone)

If Ford ships my truck with a drop-in rather than a spray-in liner I will have the dealer take it out and back out the cost. I can get spray-in locally. If I order a hamburger, I don't want the restaurant to decide without asking that they can just gimme a chicken sandwich. Ford best get an ok from the buyer before just making substitutions.

So you'd be ok with changes and substitutions which were not approved by you and for which you still have to pay for?? There ought to be a final buyer approval step when a vehicle is scheduled for build just to be sure all is as expected.
The way things are now reminds me of the "Cool Hand Luke" line
"What we have hear is a Failure to Communicate."
C'mon Ford! You can do better!

Moving forward this is correct.

Here is the exact Timestamp from the @fordvideoguy YT video: .

However, your wording is off. Ordered but unscheduled vehicles will still get spray in as long as their order was done (and received a ford confirmation email to be safe) BEFORE the cut-off date. New orders AFTER the cut-off will not get the spray in liner and will receive the drop-in.

This only applies to new orders after the cutoff date (arbitrarily 11/1) , but ultimately he said look on your DORA (build sheet/order sheet). If it says spray in then you get spray in. If it says drop in then you get drop in.
