I have the Rough Country tri-fold flip up low profile hard cover. I can remove it easily myself by removing the the 2 nuts that hold it to the rails. I'm 67 and it is light enough to easily remove. But if you have a need to remove often to use the bed I would suggest a roll up hard cover or the 4 panel flip up that doesn't block the rear window as much.

Thanks guys, unfortunately I think I have to agree with you about the hard covers. As nice as they are, removing it once a week is probably too much. I'm not so much worried about the weight as I am the hassle of getting it back on straight, and then if I need it off and I'm not home I have to deal with it in the bed.

Hey all -

I have been interested in a Maverick ever since they came out in 2022, but unfortunately I had just settled on a 2022 Camry SE as my daily driver. I've had it since September of 2021 and it finally seemed like time to make the switch. The biggest factors were that the hybrid became available with the AWD, and they are finally on the lots, available for purchase. I built the blue Lariat BAP I wanted online and figured I might end up ordering it then found that my normal dealer had a 2025 almost exactly as I built it on the lot. Only thing it didn't have was the PPF film on the fenders/hood. The $2k in rebates plus X-plan pricing was enough to choose that particular Maverick. I won't get it until next week which should give them time to get the recall done (uggg...). I pointed out the Camry has had zero recalls and zero issues in the 60k miles I put on it so maybe Ford should give me an extra "recall rebate" but no such luck.

I will be looking here for recommendations for a tonneau cover ASAP. I like the tri-fold hard covers for this truck but want easy removal.

That's a deal breaker for me. I need to get the front wheel of my dirt bike up into the corner, all the way. My buddy had a hard roll-up Ford cover on his F150 that didn't work because it didn't roll up small enough so he switched to a soft roll-up. I like the look an function of a hard cover, just can't see it fitting my needs.

I think soft tri-folds are best for easy/quick R&R. I have an Extang Trifecta that I really like, can R&R in less than 5 minutes, which I also do a lot.

How do you like the hard tonneau cover? Is it easily removable? I like the idea of a hard cover but would want to remove/install about once a week.

I don't remove my BAK MX4 TS. I only open it to load the coolers that stay in the bed. Below is my setup for Costco shopping. It does not block the 3rd brake light when open. I also have t-slots for a future rack. Two clamps hold it on when it is open/folded back.

I raised mine and measured. If your tire all the way into the corner is less than 19 3/4'' high at 5 3/8" out from the cross metal at top of bed it should fit. If you think it might work I will cut a pattern to exact. The bottom of the standing panels is about 1" higher at about 6" from metal cross piece.

I can't really tell from that angle. When I get the truck next week I'll load the bike and take a pic. Would be nice if that works.

As a quick check. If your loaded bike is below the top of bed at 47 3/4" from the inside top of the closed tailgate it should fit. If it's close I will make a pattern and measure that and take a picture of it if you want. (I may be on the "safe side" with my measurement some as there is an offset that could help).

I agree with Frank, if you need to keep taking it off, stay away from the hard roll ups and hard fold tops. It’s all about our individual needs.

Some, for sure. I'm certainly glad I didn't buy a latest gen Tundra though!
