Yeah it does suck and unfortunately this isn't my first time in these situations, but I've never been down an arm and a leg at the same time so that's a new one for me. Thankfully everything is on the mend and I may be able to avoid surgery, which is also a positive thing haha.

Most definitely a positive thing. Never broken a bone before, but I'm queasy just thinking about it. Can I ask how this happened if you don't mind sharing?

I don't mind at all. I've broken many bones over the years, first one was my right arm at 5 years old. Most of them were because I've been an adrenaline junkie since childhood and grew up in the country mostly unsupervised. Needless to say the led to me and my friends doing a lot of very dumb things.

During the last ice storm we had in Texas in early February, my dog slipped while walking down the stairs outside my apartment building (old 2 story complex with a single outdoor flight of stairs). He tripped me as he struggled to regain footing and I fell down the full flight of stairs, slid down the sidewalk, off the curb, and into the driveway. It was seriously like something out of a movie lol. Thankfully my dog was totally fine, he was just sitting at the curb looking down at me wondering why I was laying in the street.

Now I'm stubborn and decided not to go to the doctor for a while because the pain wasn't too bad and I figured my wrist was sprained and my knee just twisted a little too much (original knee injuries were from BMX and motocross, it's been operated on once already about 20 years ago). Fast forward to March and I was suddenly having trouble walking and using my right hand. I'm on a computer all day for work (I do infosec stuff) so I was missing quite a bit of work and having trouble getting around because my daily driver was a manual.

So then I bought the Maverick and here we are lol.

Oh my. I understand the need for adrenaline. Thankfully you only broke a bone or two as a kid and got through it will some worthwhile memories. The snow storm story sounds traumatic though... Glad to hear your dog was fine but ouch. That's quite a fall Thanks for sharing that harrowing tale lol. Sincerely hoping you recover soon! Wish we could sign your cast.
