I want to replace all 6 speakers for under $200. I want a cleaner sound with more depth.

Crutchfield helped me out. Adding Hertz to doors and dash. Personally, I don’t plan on messing with all the interior panels to replace the rear seat speakers…yet. Maybe, one day.

You don't need to replace all 6. The rears are worthless. I bought new Infinity Kappa coaxials for the front doors. They were on sale for $88 (>$200 regular). I added sound deadening and made my own spacers. I unplugged the dash tweeters because I hate the high frequencies bouncing off the windshield. It sounds 10x better. I'm adding a 4ch amp and sub next.

With that budget, I'd look into the PowerBass speakers that are designed as drop-in replacements. Most other options will require additional wiring and crossovers.

But there's benefits in crossovers, and splicing takes less than 5 minutes per speaker.

My main issue with this suggestion, though, is that I think there's options that probably sound better than Powerbass. The stock base speakers are so bad anything is an upgrade, but I think even at a low price point there could be better options.

I agree, but with a $200 budget (for two sets of speakers) I don't think he is an audiophile.

Get a cheap 8" or 10" powered sub off of Amazon for ~$125 and add a pair of semi-decent coaxial speakers for the front doors with the left over money. Don't bother replacing the rear speakers.

I thank everyone for the suggestions and ideas. In my 2022 hybrid I tried the PowerBass and then JBL's. I liked the JBL's better. I picked up my 2023 hybrid on the 6th and was surprised the factory speakers had more high end and sounded cleaner. There must have been something wrong with the dash tweeters in the 2022. So I will be installing Morel's in my new truck and add an 8" powered sub in the future to add depth at the bottom end.

it's not going into a Maverick, but this weekend I'm installing a MTX Terminator 8" powered sub in my son's SUV. it had good reviews and has been on (and off) sale the past several months for $159, $199 regularly. I think (and hope, lol) it's way better than Rockville and other stuff in the $100-150 range. I definitely don't expect it to perform like a Kicker HS10, but it's less than half the cost.

So, the Morels are installed and I couldn't be happier! Very clean sound and more low end. An 8" powered sub is in my future.

May I ask which Morels you installed? I'm looking at just swapping out my door speakers as well and installing the Morel Maximo 6. Will do a powered sub / amp in the future. Would love to know your thoughts - cheers!
