I had no idea what came in the mail today until I opened the box.

They sent one to us to compensate us for the aggravation involved in replacing the airbags.

On the whole, I have been pleasantly surprised with Ford. The Maverick is the first Ford Product I have bought.

I got one too. Surprise averted due to FedEx giving me a heads up email. Thought it was for my Lariat with 3400 miles just having spent one month in the shop to pull the transmission and engine to fix a problem that seems pretty rare. They said the Yeti was for getting my air bags done while there, which I had asked for. It does work in the doors horizontally. I would have been happier with a wash job. I object to unsolicited mailings, like calendars and address labels, the latter of which are mostly shredded since not many people have used snail mail for quite some time. So these water bottles will be of questionable use.

Where is my "Fits" gift I was promised last year? I waited 536 days for my XLT hybrid

Oh my... if you've ever watched that long video where key members of the Maverick design team talk about interesting choices they made with color palettes, functionality, etc....

Direct link to video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmg-uM8HXng

they do talk a bit ad nauseum about the interior's High Touch User Experience Zones ane the Parial door handles that allow for tall water bottles. And then marketing / customer service contracts with a manufacturer to produce water bottles that don't fit this designated spot...

ummmm... I know they made their design processes more streamlined with the Maverick, but perhaps some checks and balances were in order on that... seems like a very avoidable disconnect... a missed opportunity to validate a controversial design choice...

Use the address labels to enter contests that will send you to exotic locations. And get all that important junk mail!

I think the difference is target demographic in Maverick. Ford wanted Maverick to be functional for city dwellers and young people as well, who rarely carry stuff like maps and work gloves, but likely always have a water bottle on them.
Living in Texas, and spending a lot of time in central California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico, pretty much everyone of every age keeps a water bottle available. It's amazing how much water you go through when it's 100ºF and <10% humidity!

For myself, I usually have a non-Yeti travel mug full of coffee, and at least two water bottles where I can reach them. As I get older, through, I do find it cuts down on my personal "range" behind the wheel...

I do agree about having the bottles, but I have a shelf full of them already. Did not need another one.

Happy to buy that one off of you if you don't want it. Got a buddy that would love it for a birthday present.

Changed my mind, the quality and design of the Yeti is so much better than others I have, now use it all the time. Will be keeping it....

My Yeti came after I sold that Maverick so guess the guy who now owns the truck and has done the recalls won't get one. :)
