You have put a lot of thought into the longevity of your Maverick, so it would seem you may keep the truck for a long time. Good!
I would get a back-up OEM PCM/ECM (computer brain) from a MY22 with your configuration from a wrecked one. CarParts.com is a good source.
I had a 95 Windstar that we bought new. Car manufactures only need to supply replacement parts for 10 years. It was not too long after 10 years that the PCM failed. So this may have been around 2010, or a bit earlier.
This was a nightmare. Ford no longer stocked. Re-flashed PCM's were not cheap, and neither was the labor. And did not come with a warranty from standard auto parts suppliers. Ran OK for a while and failed again. Put another one in, ran, but not as good as before. That one failed. Put a used OEM one from EBAY (not a California car) and it ran ok, but not as good as before.
About 15 years later, I was talking to the parts mgr at my Ford dealership - he had the same experience on a different FORD model (Escort I think) - had to junk the car.
I have a 2016 Shelby that will stay in the family forever. Last thing I want is it not to at least run as it did from the factory.
Ford made a zillion Windstar's, less 2016 Mustang GT's, and well, not many Mavericks. I picked up a couple of OEM PCM's with low mileage from wrecked cars - each about $200 - cheap insurance that the car will run correctly in the future. The Windstar PCM was on the interior side of the firewall (labor intensive). The 2016 Mustang in under the hood, in the engine bay, right next to the exhaust manifold. All the heat and electronics makes me nervous. I don't know where the Maverick PCM is located yet.
I will get one from a wrecked MY23 AWD that has my configuration. Chances are it will never fail, but it becomes a nightmare when your car won't run.
Sorry for the long reply, you got more than just my 2 cents...
