I'm ready to have a spray-in liner installed and had planned to go with Line-X and 1/2 of the local dealers are now using other products, with new-to-me names. I want a durable, LONG lasting liner and these shops claim they are as good as Line-X...
Does anyone have personal knowledge of comparisons between Line, -X, Rhino or others. I'm not sold on Line-X but I don't seem to find any long term ratings
I was quoted $750 for a Line-X premium and ouch!, that hurt. Maybe a shock to me but when another company quotes similar price with a unknown name to me, I get nervous.
As an example, my son had his Chevy truck done in Jacksonville, NC with a product called "Leonard" and the shop claimed it was as good and he's had issues with scrapes/de-lamination from the painted bed. I don't want that mistake to happen to me.
Thanks, Ban

Line X is the knock off, Rhino lining beat them to market by 5 years. Line X is softer, and grippier. Rhino lining is Harder (tougher) and things slide a bit easier on it.

I paid $650 for Line-X premium two years back and I’m sure it’s still $650

The first SIBL I ever had was Rhino in a 2006 GMC Canyon. I dragged lumber, old appliances, tool boxes over it, it was just fine. Appeared to be a little coarser grained than my subsequent LineX.

Sold the '06 in 2016, and the Rhino dealer was gone so I went with LineX. Appeance wise, it appears smoother. Used it the same way as described, no issues in 6 years but low miles.

Sold the '16 Canyon when I got my '22 Lariat EB, it was the base Lariat, no SIBL so I got LineX.

Sold the '22 Mav EB when my '24 hybrid arrived with factory SIBL. The aftermarket LineX covered more places including the top of the rail below the rear window and more of the tailgate than the factory SIBL so you will get better coverage, just not the Ford logo embossed on the bed.

Price: Factory lists SIBL option at $$495. On my '22 EB I showed my LineX dealer what Ford charges, offered $500 cash and we had a deal.
You might try that, and I am in the high priced SoCal market.

I’ve had great satisfaction with Line-X. If my Maverick hadn’t come with a spray in, I would have done line-X.

My last two Silverados, 2001 & 2017 got that brand.

I'd expect that a lot of failures probably come from poor application rather than bad coating material. In that case, I'd be more concerned with the local reputation of the installer than the brand name on the building. (Assuming the price and warranty are similar).

This is why it is hard to find a Line-X dealer.
Why Line X dealers are closing.

You are asking folks for their advice, on whether the off brands are as good as Line-X. Then you refer to an example that they maybe inferior. Therefore anybody who offers a suggestion is already fighting an uphill battle to defend an off brand.
In reality, the example that you refer to, sounds more like a individual dealers bad preparation, than bad product.
You may have to look around a little more or travel a distance for an authorized Rhino or Line-X dealer to do the work.
For your own peace of mind. Stick with the brand you know and trust.
That way you won't be disappointed
Good Luck

I have Line-X and haven't had issues. They actually used Rhino on fuel trucks in Iraq to stop small arms fire (I have a pencil cup made out of it). Either of those will work for your truck.
