I recently had Line X installed and while the installer did pretty well there were a few issues I'm not super happy about.

1) They sprayed in the threaded holes even though they said they would not. I can see some threads that aren't covered in the hole but some of the initial threads in some of the holes definitely have line x in them.
2) They didn't remove the plugs in the bed even though they said they would. Instead they are just sprayed over.
3) There is a small spot of overspray on the top of the plastic trim on the top of the bed up near the cab. This one bugs me a little. There is also some on the plastic on the edge of the tailgate. This one doesn't bother me as much because that is an area that is going to get abused anyway.

So with regards to #1, will I just be able to thread through this stuff if I ever want to use the threaded holes or will I need to somehow clean it out first?

With regards to #2, I'm not sure if I care too much other than that they weren't straight/accurate with me from the start. Why would I ever remove these plugs?

#3 is annoying me a little. Is there likely anything I can do here? The spot is small and it's in a corner up near the cab. It's possible there was other stuff like this that was wiped up before the line x was dry and they just missed this spot.

I already emailed the installer about #3. I haven't really laid into them about 1 and 2 because I'm not sure what good that would do at this point. What I don't understand is this place has a very high rating on google based on hundreds of reviews. Maybe I'm too picky? I just dropped over $700 for the premium line x so I guess that set my expectations kind of high.

I think they should be able to remove the over spray. It won't stick to the paint/clear coat well in areas they didn't prep sand.

I have had some plugs sprayed over on past vehicles and after a month or two you totally forget about it honestly.

what do you think about the threaded holes? same deal, not prepped so it will come out pretty easily when the time comes?

I had the same problem with my Ziebart spray in. I tried cleaning it out with a brass gun cleaning brush chucked up in my cordless drill and that didn't even touch it. I ended up just re-threading the holes with a tap.

was it pretty easy to stay lined up with the threads? I'd be a little worried that I'd start making new threads versus cleaning out the existing ones.

A shame you found a poor installer. My Line-X was perfect and you can tell there was an attention to detail paid. No issues with the threaded holes being sprayed.

The business has excellent reviews and some of the reviews were even for line x installs in mavericks. I thought they'd be better then this.

It wasn't that bad. I took my time doing it by hand instead of using my drill and made sure the tap was in the hole straight. I didn't have any problems.
