Hmmm. If the new Ford Maverick were reincarnated as a Mercury than it should be aptly named the Mercury Goose.. Goose egg on the Mercury idea.

The Corsair is a Lincoln version of the Escape. It has a different interior than the Escape. A Maverick Lincoln does not have to be exactly like the Mav interior, just clad in leather. Also, it has different engine options. The Corsair comes in 2.0T, 2.3T and 2.5PHEV. So it's not a big stretch. A little one, even.

Lots of people want a smaller vehicle. It doesn't necessarily mean they want a cheap vehicle. Two different types of buyers.

You even have four colors options, Tan...

Learning to Drive. I want a Maverick, though.
Exactly! Maybe give it a nautical theme, and call it the Mariner. In the same way that I think the Maverick would be perfect for a retro-style custom truck, or any other customizing, I think it could be a good foundation for a small luxury truck. I'm going back to school to be a lawyer, and I personally want a base-model (or an XLT) Maverick, in Oxford White, with the 4K tow package (and possibly FX4--although it seems like there's significant overlap) and a bedcap. But, after ten years with a firm, I think I'll want to treat myself to something similar, but nicer.

Anyone else think a Lincoln version of the Maverick could be awesome? This may sound weird, but the Maverick makes me miss Mercury more--it seems like with a chrome waterfall grille, "wood" trim inside, and an analog clock on the dashboard, the Maverick could have made an awesome Mercury Monarch, sort of like a successor to the Grand Marquis. (That said, I think I'll buy the XLT FX4 with a 4K tow package, especially if they make an FX4 Hybrid.) I think it'd be awesome to be able to have a couple different themes to choose from (I love the themes Ford offers, but the thought of a "comfort-oriented" version alongside the adventure-oriented ones could be a nice idea.) Take the same basic idea, and put a Lincoln badge on it, and you could have a good Lincoln Mark M.

I'm always amazed at how different Fords and Mercuries looked from each other. Amazing what a grille and headlights can do, isn't it?

I love the Maverick's simplicity and sturdiness. I think a Lincoln version would be awesome, but I think it would defeat what I love about it

I would be pretty surprised to see that happen, not because I don't think the designers at Ford/Lincoln couldn't make a nice looking version (though I really do like the basic "truck" look that it currently sports), but because of the market positioning of Lincoln being such a contradiction to where Ford positioned this little truck.
You aren't the demographics for a Lincoln product. It makes sense, all ford really needs to do is morph the current Lincoln design into the Maverick, and bump up the price and they would sell every since one.

Ford Maverick-Lincoln (pick a name), Chevrolet-GMC have been doing it forever with trucks, different grill, a few more shiny things, maybe extra lock washers on the GMC.

So, what is the demographics for a Lincoln product? Are they generally more female-owned?

Higher-income, more affluent, more luxurious, and willing to pay for it. White-Collar worker

Look at the Corsair, Aviator, and Navigator. perfect examples of taking a Ford Product and moving it upscale. The Maverick could be done the same.

I'm pretty sure working for a bank's admin office while studying law is pretty White-Collar, lol
