So when I flew to Denver to visit one of my construction projects last week, the only available SUV or truck on the rental lot was a Lincoln. I stood there waiting for something else to pull up. 5 minutes later a Tacoma SR5 pulled up and I jumped in. Pulling up on a construction site in a Lincoln isn't the image I need to send to the people I manage.

One of my superintendents just bought an Infinity Qx80. Our client saw it at the trailer and did a double take and pointed. He drives a F250 Super Duty that probably wasn't much less. Image does matter sometimes. My point, for the majority of people looking for a truck, a Lincoln just isn't the right image and brand.

Same for a King Ranch. I cannot imagine the laughs the little 4 cylinder, 4,000 lbs towing Maverick would get trying to wear a King Ranch badge. There is an image and expectation that a King Ranch truck carries that the Maverick cannot meet. I plan on getting a Maverick so it's not a knock, just that I know what it is and what it isn't.

Lincoln has an image? Sort of like Buick, I suppose. Or Acura. But not so much cachet that I would think it needed to be avoided regardless of circumstance.
