LED Tail Gate Light Bar maker?

My truck is finally arriving sometime this week after 485 days. I want to order the led tailgate light bar listed on Ford’s accessories site.

My question is does anyone know if this is the same light bar made by Putco (as I believe appears to be the case with the one Ford sells for the Ranger)?

If I can save a hundred bucks I would rather order straight from Putco, and then use my points on other Ford accessories.

Im also curious about how this gets power. if this gets power from trailer hitch plug then from what i remembers it deactivates copilot 360 when reversing. The putco one you listed looks like would deactivate copilot 360.

Hopefully an official Ford Accessory wouldn't disable CP360. Since it's an official Ford accessory I'm going to guess it piggybacks into the tail light harnesses. Also, $400

I would check to see if this is a different version of the light than you might be seeing elsewhere online. The standard Putco Red Blade will cause the truck to think that a trailer is attached. That's why I installed mine with a Curt T-harness to keep it independent of the towing system.

If this has been engineered to specifically work with the Maverick, the extra $100 might be well spent. Unfortunately, there's just not enough information on the Ford accessories page to know for sure.

Whtever you get make sure it has the access in the middle to get to the spare Tire to drop it. You can see in the ford picture that it has that opening in the middle.

I got the split blade for mine but that was before we realized that the light bar really needs to be mounted on the bumper lip just below the tailgate. Otherwise it can't be seen all that well. At that location the spare tire access isn't an issue.

According to that link of this part # says that it is plug & play automatically sync's the system including the backup lights, etc... also many dealerships offer lower price (just googled it myself and found for $307 @ varsity ford parts in Ann Arbor Michigan not too far from where i live).

Yeah. I saw that when trying to Google the part. Putco had it for I think $276.
Taking delivery of my truck tomorrow morning, so I might just ask if they’ll price match other dealerships on accessories.

Did you ever decide on this? I'm thinking of ordering it myself. The difference between this one and the one you linked for the Ranger is that the one from Ford includes the plug-and-play harnesses that connect inline with each taillamp.
