I finally had enough of the Lasfit bulbs burning out in less than 6 months. I called Lasfit and they were nice enough to send out replacements again for the burnt out brake lamps. They did “upgrade” me to the new T3 lamps. I tried them and were very bright when you first turned them on, however after about 4 minutes in of being on, they dimmed down to a 1/3 of there brightness and were freakin on fire they were so hot. I started looking at some ALLA MIN RED on Amazon. Order 2 pairs and WOW. They are projector type bulbs that have a very powerful beam straight out the front with enough spill on the sides. I ran 1 ALLA MINI against the Lasfit T3 in the Same housing. Major difference . The ALLA stayed bright the whole time while the Lasfit tanked down to a glow in around 5 minutes. If Lasfit could come up with a bulb with a larger heatsink to handle the overdriven LED , that would be great. Instaed they just thermal the driver down to unusable level. T3 must stand for Thermal down in 3 minutes

What's your trim? The T3s do not work on the Lariat (after the recall), so the question would be do the ALLAs?

the T3 do work in the Lariat trim after the recall but may cause the interior signal to hyper flash. I resolved this by turning off the warning in Forscan and now I have my LED bulbs and no hyper flash. I regularly check my bulbs anyway so the warning hyper flash is useless to me anyway.

Just don’t use your brakes for more than 3 minutes. They thermal down to glow sticks after that. They would make good hand warmers

Thanks for the response. I used the T3s in my Lariat after the recall and they worked ok (occasional dash hyperflash) for about a month until one of them just no longer lit up. Replaced with OEMs and is now one less thing to worry about until Lasfit or someone else comes up with a more lasting fix.

I'm going to state something at the risk of being "attacked" by electrical wiz people. When I had my 2015 Prius, I found that doing ANY simple electrical upgrades or changes was extremely different from older cars (Prior to 2006) that I have owned.

Back in the day, you could swap headlights, tailights, put in customized stereo systems, install fog lights or custom headlights without any problems. As long as you found a hot lead and grounded everything properly, you were good.

Starting in 2006, just installing an aftermarket stereo unit required a custom wiring harness and a lot of time! Changing stock bulbs in the tail lights as of 2006 required at the minimum some type of resistor! In my 2015 Prius, if you wanted LED tailights, you had to purchase the entire assembly and it came with a resistor to keep down the heating issue.

So when I saw all the folks in here doing the LED upgrade, I watched and waited to see just how long they would last without any type of resistor in the electrical line. There seems to be issues without a resistor. It appears that having a resistor OR at minimum, like the aftermarket manufacturers did with the Prius, you will need an entire housing that comes with the built in resistor. Just changing the bulbs will work for awhile, but may eventually burn out or over heat.

Again, this has been my experience. It may not be yours. But I'm not changing just my bulbs. I'll wait until an aftermarket Maverick tailight LED housing is made and sold and tested.
