Lariat trim, worth it?

The reason your wife wanted a Lariat is the push button start. If you bought a vehicle without it, you might as well get standard shift! Todays women don't fiddle around looking for keys to drive. Almost all cars have push button start, and people love this feature. You will thank me later!

You are quite right. That push button was a big deal for her. Acoustic windshield should be a good addition as well. We were able to skip the luxury package since we live in southern AZ.

I have owned the Lariat for three months. I love the Co-Pilot 360, I am Deft and the radio or stereo dose’t make a difference to me because I don’t turn it on. In my opinion the radio makes noise when driving I call driving my quite time for planning my activities or task a radio gets in the way. When I was working I used my drive time to plan my day or script my responsibilities in major negotiation and who was going to be the good guy or bad guy that day. When I do wear my hearing aids the cabin is quite No wind whistle. The Lariat Lux with the Co-Pilot 360 is excellent in my opinion. In the three months of ownership it has given me two warnings of possible head on collision which I avoidEd. When my team at worked and we traveled the world and meals were often not identifiable based on US standards we established a phrase “order what you want eat what you get”. It is the same with a new car order what you want to drive and drive what you get. If you don’t like it try to trade it away and get something else. But before you do do your research because trading trends to get expensive. I love my Maverick for what it is. A low cost means of transportation. If I wanted luxury I would bought a Lincoln. I must add I bought the Lariat when I felt the XLT With Lux And Co-Pilot 360 would have been adequate. If I had not bought the Lariat I did I would still be waiting on a delivery date for a 2023 ???. A bird in my hand is better than 2 in the bush. Life is too short enjoy what you have.

Hit 10k miles this weekend on my loaded Lariat. Never in my 32 year life would I have been able to afford a brand new loaded pickup fully packed. Even getting a 23' would have pushed it beyond my comfort level of pricing.

I'm 6'6" and find the Mav pretty comfortable as I've drive from TX to Ohio 3 times in it with zero issues. I came from a truck so I wanted/needed a truck and the interim car was nice but left alot to be desired.

Edit: I think every Mav is worth their MSRP at any trim and load out. But if it were me, it's barebones XL or load it up Lariat. XLT is kinda meh.

If they had the option for cloth seats in the Lariat, I would have gotten it. I really dislike leather seats.

+1 Lariat was never a consideration for us, the only thing I wanted (above our XLT hybrid) is a better sound system and the B&O is very very mediocre. We've had all the other bells and whistles on previous cars and we just don't value them. IMO, the value proposition just isn't there for $30k+, but (as noted earlier) there isn't an alternative if you want/need a truck. We weren't necessarily looking for a truck (just something that easily fits 4, cheap, and fuel efficient), so at the pricepoint of the lariat we were looking at sedans and hatchbacks.

Get what you want, we all have different wants and priorities.

YES get what you want! I did not want a moon roof or side boards. got everything but that. love it and still learning how to use some of it. one road trip of 6100 miles was great.

The Lariat has the features I wanted. I didn't think I wanted a heated steering wheel until the other night and very happy that I have it. I wanted my truck with the B&O stereo, sat radio, sunroof, and heated seats. I didn't consider the other trims.

Very happy with my purchase. And got a good deal trading in my 2019 F150.

I constantly read on here that most think the maverick isn’t worth over $35k and it’s best suited as a lower level trim. I ordered a lariat as I listen to satellite radio 95% of the time and didn’t want to constantly have to use the SiriusXM app. I know the Lariat has the same materials for the most part as the XL, with basically just more tech added. Which I’ll agree the interior is cheap, it’s not fancy but it’s fine.

Anyway, I wanted to hear from those with Lariats. Are you happy with it? Looking back, would you have went with a cheaper trim level?

I ordered a '23 Lariat hybrid, sunroof, hitch, CP360 but no Lux pkg. during the short window in mid September. Realizing I might not get it for a year, I spoted a '22 Lariat 2.0L, sunroof, CP360, backup sensors, no Lux pkg, and purchased it off the lot. I'll sell it when the '23 hybrid comes. Before ordering the '23, I test drove an XL hybrid for 20+ miles. It was very nice. But I wanted things like 8 way power seat and I like quiet and the laminated front windshield adds quiet although the hybrid was surprisingly quiet. I considered the XLT but to get power seats you must order the Lux pkg and in SoCal I don't need heated mirrors or heated wipers and with cloth upholstery in the XLT, heated seats aren't a deal breaker. [You can get an 8 way power seat off the fleet option list but most dealers won't or can't for retail customers]I prefer natural ventilation to A/C and use the sunroof often. The Lariat has a power sliding rear window which allows easy control of flow-through. However, the Active-X non-heated seats in the Lariat are colder than fabric in an XLT so that is a minor negative. The biggest thing I miss is Sirius XM which is available only in the Lariat Lux pkg. My tires of preference are always Michellin's and Lariat comes with them. Conclusion: If you can afford the Lariat trim and you plan to hold on to your Mav for 5+ years I think it offers convenience and comfort items. I could't justify $3750 for the Lariat Lux pkg just to get Sirius XM which is a "want" but not a "need" like the power seat.

I still think the XLT is the sweet spot, especially as I don't care for the look of the seats in the Lariat. I do wish the XLT had adaptive cruise control and keyless, start, though -- those are things I have in my other car car and I miss them.

Same boat at 35. I was looking at used Rangers before COVID. Had my dealer been honest, I would have a slightly lower payment, but man they nailed the price point I was comfortable with at this point of my life.

I bought an XL AWD 4k in the spring with 0 down, and traded it in with nothing down on my Lariat Lux, $35 increase in payment. Should of been a wash but Autonation are scumbags so I was forced the mid year price increases of around 2k.

It’s probably worth noting that Ford said 80% of Maverick buyers are first time truck owners. So for 80% of people the truck part likely isn’t at relevant, so they are likely comparing it to non trucks sub $40k. Obviously, if a truck is important to you than the decision is easy since there’s nothing else. It’s a fair comparison for them to make because it’s what Ford wants - a conquest vehicle to compete with the Honda Civic.

I was a conquest Mav buyer. In fact, this is my first Ford EVER. I was tired of driving a 2016 GMC Canyon V6, tow capacity 7000 lbs. The ride of not enjoyable, but I need a bed so an SUV wouldn't do. My 2.0L Mav Lariat has 660 miles on it and so far I love everything about it, size, handling, fuel economy using 87 octane, ride quality etc. I don't have the Lux pkg and I miss Sirius XM radio. But Ford won me over.

I ordered my Lariat Lux Hybrid with everything but the moon roof 9 months ago.
4000 miles on it, and I still smile every time I climb into that drivers seat.
- I wish it could default to eco mode with the other modes being selections
- Agree on the B & O sound system, it's adequate at best
Outside of those two things, I'm completely impressed with its performance and feel.
I'd do it all again in a heart beat.

For you guys with the B and O radio try putting it in surround sound mode. This made a big difference in my Shelby and I'm sure its the same radio
