Both "small" categories. I don't care as much about the back seat. Getting in/out is important (old guy - stiff back). Room to haul stuff from Home Depot is important (which eliminates all the "cute Utes" for me) I drove a Kicks as a rental for four days - 2 of that was highway, where it was just barely adequate. The Kicks was literally the only rental car they had available at the airport, so we took it, but neither of us was happy.
The Kicks was barely adequate around town.

Hopefully you'll get your Mavericks.

The Subaru Crosstrek hybrid gets pretty poor mileage overall, 33 was what I saw. We have a 2017 Outback and can get 30 mpg in mixed driving. The hybrid just doesn’t offer enough more mpg to justify the cost.

Yes... h/k, JBL, Infinity, Mark Levinson, B&O.. they own many of the premium systems you see in cars from $20k to six figures. But that doesn't make them all on the same level.
From all this @MLowe05 get your point that you consider the B & O on the low end of premium. That is fine but believe your first post/attitude about it was more negative in tone. That was the disappointing thing of your comment. There are a lot of good Tequilas in the 30-50 dollar range, and not snobbish about that. Let us know if you replace the door and pillar speakers as would think the amp is fine. Yes there are threads about it and perhaps years down the line will think about it. The reason of wanting to hear if you do it is to see if it's a serious disappointment on your part to spend the money and do something about it. Then hear the results, if your happy with the sound. Perhaps done the line will do it. Right now need to adjust to my new car payment. Did spend money that protected things as liquid ceramic coating, NH oil, Extang 2.0 hard trifold cover. Order the Ford all weather matts since have the Ford Pass points, even though there may be two better options. We are all different and do respect your opinions.

I constantly read on here that most think the maverick isn’t worth over $35k and it’s best suited as a lower level trim. I ordered a lariat as I listen to satellite radio 95% of the time and didn’t want to constantly have to use the SiriusXM app. I know the Lariat has the same materials for the most part as the XL, with basically just more tech added. Which I’ll agree the interior is cheap, it’s not fancy but it’s fine.

Anyway, I wanted to hear from those with Lariats. Are you happy with it? Looking back, would you have went with a cheaper trim level?
I’m not the lariat owner youre looking for i suppose… but for what its worth… it depends what you want from the lariat trim. If its just the leather and heating package (This describes me) there are cheaper more customizable options available.

if its the tech, which is what you meantined in this writeup, then i guess youve gotta spring for it if those things are important to you 🤷‍♂️ either way, 35k for a maverick is only too much if youd rather have a ranger sized truck without any of the fancy stuff you get with your 35k maverick lol if utility were more that much more important to you than comfort, you’d be on a different forum.

for me, i got what i needed from XLT then installed leather and heating package post build, pre-customer pickup at a fraction of the cost as lariat lux would have costed me. But i understand some care more about the tech features. Each to their own trucks! 🙃

For serious? With a hybrid cvt? Seems underwhelming… i guess its the all time all wheel drive That crushes it?

I currently drive a Prius-C, but it's way too small and uncomfortable. My wife can't stand to ride in it, and I can't wait to replace it with a Maverick. My daughter has a later-model Prius, and it is similarly cramped and uncomfortable.

The least expensive Toyota Hybrid SUV near me is a RAV4 listing for $37,817. And, of course, the dealer is asking for even more than that list price. Some local dealers are adding $10K ADM for RAV4 and up to $15K ADM for a RAV4 Prime.

The Subaru dealers near me have zero hybrids listed on their sites, but the Crosstrek Hybrid lists for $36,845 (with no options added) on the Subaru website. Local dealer doesn't even show "hybrid" as an available option for that model, so...

As I said, I'm just not finding anything besides a Maverick in that price range - at least not that I would want to drive...
To be fair, you’re also not finding your Maverick sitting in a Ford lot next to you at MSRP either. For Toyota, you have to find a dealership charging MSRP and wait - just like the Maverick. Back in March I was between a Hybrid RAV4 XLE and a Maverick Lariat. Placed the order via waitlist for the RAV4, which comes in mid December. The Maverick I couldn’t order til September, and it’s a coin toss if I’ll see it in 2023 at all.

I definitely get that, but if I "order" one from the local Toyota guys, I still pay the $5K - $15K ADM (depending on model). I may not get my Maverick(s), but if I do, they will be purchased at MSRP.
However, I may have stumbled onto a deal on a new Maverick at a small-town dealership... We'll see.

Not sure how many options you have, but probably worth calling and asking around. My area is 50/50 on the MSRP

Consumer Reports said 33 mpg combined, but now I see 35 mpg and up to 17 miles mainly on battery for the plug-in hybrid. But it apparently starts around $36K.

I mean, it was negative.. but it was also honest. Like you, I waited for a very long time for this thing. You and I over on the October orders thread... We tracked the rail cars, we tracked the trucks. I flew to PA... I was excited. Hell, I waited longer for the Maverick than I have kept a lot of cars.

We just have different takes. I happen to not be satisfied. Not every person on this forum waiting on one of these is going to be happy in the end. Most are, and that's a good thing. But I don't think it's unreasonable to give my (albeit negative) opinions on the truck now that I've owned both the absolute base model and the fully loaded one, both powertrains, and plenty of seat time in each.

My dissatisfaction is my own. It is not a reflection on anyone else or their trucks.

I’ve ordered the Lariat hybrid with pretty much every option. While I know it’s certainly not the value proposition the XL or XLT are, this is going to be my retirement car and I plan on traveling a lot. The only option I wish was available was ventilated seats, but it appears there are now after-market options. My order went in 9/22; I’m hoping to see the car by next October. The dealer is selling It to me for MSRP. This will the 5th new vehicle I’ve bought in over nearly 50 years of driving, but the first time I’ve paid anything close to MSRP.

Oddly enough, right after I ordered it I went by a Toyota dealer to inquire about a RAV4 hybrid, but they quoted me $52k for a $39k Limited with the Premium package.

I’m currently driving a 200k mile 2013 Subaru Outback, which I love. Even with the 2.5, it’s a little beast in our torrential rains. It’s a great car, but Subaru surprisingly is behind the curve regarding hybrids, especially since their partial ownership (20%) by Toyota. If there was a Outback hybrid, it would be a tough call between it and the Mav.

The Maverick will also be my first domestic branded car ever, although 2 of my Japanese brand cars were made here in the US. Very much looking forward to my Mav arriving.

My .02 having owned an XL Eco AWD 4k that I traded for a Hybrid Lariat Lux, 0 regrets. Worth every penny to me.

Eco was fun to drive and I used it for a few weeks on my parents farm, but living in a city with a ton of stop and go netted me 16-19 MPG with all my sub 2 mile drives + traffic lights. Getting around 40 average with the Hybrid.

I wanted to have a vehicle loaded out so if I keep it 10 years + like my last, I won't regret having skipped out on any features.

My payment went up like $35 a month after trade, and I have more equity in this one. Worth that to me!

Love my fully loaded Lariat Hybrid FE.
No other manufacturer can produce one like it for the price (not even close).
No issues or complaints with seats, audio, B&O system, etc.
Bought this to replace my PriusV (wagon).
