I think the Lariat Lux package has the signature LED lighting for front and rear lamps. I cannot confirm that but I have only seen this on models with Lariat Lux package (Lux models also have the inverter plug-in in bed).

I can understand people being worried about the taillight difference from XLT/Lariat if it’s not as noticeable for vehicles behind them(safety issue) but it sounds like a lot of people are upset with the actual look of the light.

Ummmm, how often will you be following yourself to actually see the taillights?

Seems some are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Those are definitely not reflectors top and bottom. Those are 100% illumiated. Whether it's from the normal bulb via an opening in the different housing or LED strips all together. Looks exactly like the illumination of the 2018-2020 F150 tail lights by design.

I've circled the rear and side reflectors in these pics below, that portion is shared between both styles.
XLT: Lariat:

Both lights illuminated, no flash as they're studio shots. The more I've looked, the more I'm sticking with unique lights on the Lariat. These two side by side are clearly different lights all together and these pictures above are from the same studio, same lighting.
I'm thinking its the same headlights that are just in different states for the headlight switch.

We can clearly see the middle light on this one. The top and bottom don’t seem to be very bright

That’s a good video. It appears the middle part is illuminated so I’m going with the top and bottom being reflectors. The middle might be a light though.
Looking in the manual the middle light is LED side marker bulb.

This is one of the reasons I went with the Lariat because of the lights.

Excellent. It’d be nice if the Lariat came equipped with LED’s, but I won’t cry over spilled milk. At least they listed the replacement LED equivalent. Thanks for the info 👍🏻
I totally agree. But look at the brighter side, any of the LED lights that it comes standard with HAVE to be repaired by Ford. Which means MORE money.

The LED bulbs you can swap out yourself are a lot cheaper. I've been in contact with Diode Dynamics and they are gathering information in order to come out with a list of bulbs that can be switched out to LEDs.

Anyone else notice that the Lariat appears to have unique tail lights? This really stood out to me in the pictures that @CoryDallas8123 shared with us today.

Up until now, I thought tail lights were the same across all of the models. There's clearly something going on with these Lariat lights with the upper and lower c-shaped illumination. It doesn't look like they are LED, but does anyone know more?

XL/XLT doesn't appear to have the upper, middle & lower accents:

Right on the site, they are doing LED signature on tail lights of Lariat.

You can see the upper/lower portion of XL/XLT lights has just a generic accent. Probably chrome.

Lariat has different texture here, looks like like texture on other Ford models with LED DRL.

2020 F150 LED tail for comparison, same textured area as the Maverick lariat lights and we know for sure the 2020 F150 lights are LED DRL.

This makes sense based on the "we were able to achieve a lower price point by utilizing current/pre-existing parts"

Right on the site, they are doing LED signature on tail lights of Lariat.
Ford has been going back through their feature descriptions and updating to clarify points of ambiguity.

To be honest, the lights on the Lariat look great but not really a concern. Performance, reliability, MPG, comfort, and drivability are my main focus...it should look good too, lol.

So, nobody knows or cares about the different tail lights lol? There's been so much buzz about the "signature" headlights, I thought someone else may have noticed the different tail lights as well. Doesn't seem like Ford has mentioned this anywhere to date. Anybody?
Good eye there ! :)
