Anyone unhappy with the "Active X" seating material in their Lariat?

My wife likes the active x seating material. Happy wife, happy life.
I Fully understand!!!! Unfortunately I find them incredibly hot...to the point I am considering selling mine. I now live in South Carolina so no heat and humidity here:oops:

My wife drive an 18 Escape with leather....I find them very comfortable. My 17 Expedition has AC seats SWEET. Unfortunately not my new Mav. Bummer. Looking at a new Ford Edge ST Line, it has cloth inserts.

I don't have anything against it, but I do ride with a cloth towel on the bottom portion of the seat. Mainly because its hot in Alabama and I don't like sweating on the seat, but I can still use the heat, as I like the feeling on my back for long trips.

If they had just perforated the material I think I might be able to deal with it, but as is just WAY too hot for me.

I had leather seats in my last vehicle for six years, and those were hot, too. Compared to leather, the Active-X is less supple but comfortable to me, and I suspect that the Active-X is more durable, which is a problem I noticed with the leather after several years. I've been happy with the seats so far.

I'm planning to put some IR-blocking tint on the windows, which I did in my last vehicle. It makes a MASSIVE difference in how hot the interior gets, seats included. Pretty sure that the tint helps the interior's longevity, too. The Carvana inspector couldn't believe how nice my interior was after 6 years and 93k miles.

Good info thanks. I'm now looking at a Ranger, cloth seats....comfy!

Especially if you have heated seats. Wife even has them on in the summer in her Forrester. Don't have my Mav yet tho.

An alternative, if you don't like the seats, is to get some seat covers that you like. That should make you more comfortable and be a lot cheaper than getting rid of the vehicle.
Has anyone put seat covers on theirs yet? Do they still make seat covers? They were popular years ago.

Having your windshield tinted in a ceramic coating should help. Ceramic tinted windows can block up to 95% of the heat. I also recommend doing driver and passenger window.
