Oh FFS, what complete BS. I've driven the same for decades and have never seen this with a windshield that hadn't seen over 100k miles. Even then (on a Ranger), it wasn't as bad nor did the damage worsen as quickly. And that truck spent several years in Alaska, for God's sake. I'm on the east...
Did the Escape have the same acoustic laminate coating on it?
I had two Fusions prior to this ('07 and '16), with the later one made in Mexico as well and never had any issues with the windshields. Neither had an acoustic coating though. Something just seems very wrong to me -- had a lot of...
I stopped looking at AirBiscuit...er, MotorBiscuit articles after seeing clear trends in their reporting which were not neutral. They hate the Maverick. I don't remember what else I noticed (there were a couple more things), but the fundamental impression I had was that they are completely biased.
I should also mention that I do have a chip, and I know exactly when it happened. That's not visible in these photos and is clearly a different type of damage. It's not from repeated impacts from road debris, at least not ones that I can hear or identify.
I posted about this some time ago, but I'm curious if anyone is seeing the same things I am now. My '22 Lariat (17k miles) has serious and widespread damage to the windshield, though I think it's actually the sound reduction lamination on it (see photos). That's not dirt or dust or anything like...
Another happy Lasfit customer here -- replaced all my bulbs over a year ago and no problems. VERY bright -- the reverse white lights are fantastic.
I also had to deal with their customer service over an order issue, and they were very easy and accommodating. They wound up sending me some free...
I'm at nearly 15k and had my first real problem -- driver's door handle no longer responds to touch for locking/unlocking. Also having pitting on the windshield that's completely unexpected, like the truck is 10 years old with 100k miles. My guess is that it's the acoustic lamination, but we'll...
I can't really comment on your options other than to say that the Co-Pilot 360 is my favorite feature on my Maverick for highway driving. My Fusion was too old to have that ('16), so it was something new for me. However, I can honestly say that I'll never have another vehicle without it, as long...
When I bought my Maverick last year, I sold my 2016 Fusion Hybrid to Carvana and can confirm that what you say is true, though even more extreme from what they said at the time. My Fusion had 91k miles on it and was in almost perfect shape -- one small door ding, a few pencil tip-size chips in...
We took a trip to Ireland last month, and I wound up renting a nearly brand new Toyota CH-R (pretty sure it was a 2023 model, not available in the US -- only had about 1000 miles on it). It had most of the same tech as my '22 Mav Lariat like push button start, Android Auto, ACC, lane centering...
Has anyone else noticed that their acoustic windshield has little nicks all over it? Not cracks or anything, but like an old windshield that's had many, many tiny impacts and now when the sun shines on it, it almost "sparkles". I noticed it this morning when driving into the sun. I washed with...
My wife backed her Tiguan into the garage door...on the inside...with a backup camera. 🤦‍♂️ Almost zero damage to the vehicle but minor damage to the door, which is bowed a little bit now. If it weren't a really nice insulated door, I'd have replaced it by now, so I'm continually reminded of...
My old Fusion had nearly exactly the same controls -- same functions, slightly different form. My daughter's VW Jetta also has nearly identical functions with the cruise control, and all are located in the same place, just like the Fusion and the Maverick.
🤷‍♂️
I know that the new update to the Ranger had a heavy focus on updating the interior, which was largely unchanged from the Australian version that was marketed primarily as a farm truck. I'm interested to see what they do with the '24 Ranger, assuming they learned some valuable lessons from the...
Funny thing is that I saw a Ranger in France when we were there in June, and it just looked so out of place among the Euro vehicles everywhere. Stuck out like a sore thumb! I didn't get a chance to see who was driving it, but we were nowhere near any concentrations of Americans (Evreux...
Well, just tried to install mine that I bought from Ford. I had one side on and realized it was about 1/2" off center, tried to fix it, broke off the end, sliced my fingers to shreds, and now have nothing to show for my money except band-aids and a slightly more full recycling bin. Awesome...
I went to Home Depot to return a small item that I didn't need, and of course, I had to wander around, especially to the Clearance sections scattered throughout the store (which isn't my normal store, which makes it even more interesting). Anyway, I spotted two solid-core pine doors in the exact...
Honestly, I've lost count. 2-3 dozen over the past 4-5 months? I was heading to vote on Tuesday, and a guy holding a sign outside asked how I liked it.
