You are the first person to state this on this forum. (I have been on this forum for 3.5 years). I think most will disagree with you but that is okay. Everyone is free to express their opinion here...
The package includes mostly garbage aside from the towing increase. Plus, I wouldn't really trust longevity towing with such a small vehicle. Would kill the transmission!

But if you get2k off lariat, that’s like 1k more than his option or am I wrong?
4k tow is also a waste, but no it's still more than that.

Well if all your using it for is commuting, errands, grocery getter, maybe some mulch a time or two a year, then yes your correct, you don't need 4k tow and probably don't even require a "truck".
If you do real "truck" stuff, want to pull a decent size travel trailer, pull a decent size boat, pull a utility trailer for your business, etc. then you are totally wrong, 4k tow will be needed.

There is very little you can tow with 4k that you can't tow with 2k. And very little actually truck things you can tow with 4k. Useless amount of capacity!

I dunno, there's a ton of 3500 lb campers and boats out there. I'm definitely a little envious of the 4k on the new hybrids. I wouldn't use it all the time but would've liked to rent a smaller 3500 lb camper a few times a year.

Most I found were around 3500-4000, true. I would not trust towing 4k with this tiny little unibody, even if ford tells me I can. 3500 is the limit, and again thats very few, niche, items. Maybe worthwhile for some, but the dealers chuck the option into every single car to drive up costs!

4K doesn’t work for you. It does for others.
My point being it doesn't for the majority, but dealers throw it on to drive costs up and people falsely justify its usefulness. But yes, true!

I agree that the active x seats get very hot, so I got these airbag friendly sheepskin at Costco online for $80. I only use them in the summer. You need to air them out before install.

Absolutely not a political reply here. Please don't consider it one. I'm apolitical.

OP, how does $18,000 more for that Lariat sound? That's what a new Lariat order might cost come Sunday. 25% tariffs on a $40,000 vehicle is a $10,000 plus-up. And 25% tariffs on Mexico are promised on 1 February (tomorrow). And Mavericks are made in Mexico.

I'm sitting back in my easy chair with my popcorn ready.

Bonus thought: Will Santa Cruz buyers be making fun of Mavericks for costing so much more starting next week? Since the Santa Cruz is built in the USA?
If Ford raises the prices again good luck! I hope Ford dealerships have lots of extra room as most dealerships are currently busting at the seems with overpriced stock. It's a 25k truck, it's way to close to other nicer mid size trucks at 40k+ in our current market.

I have had my 2025 AWD hybrid XLT Maverick, complete with moonroof and the luxury and 4K tow packages, and actually quite love it. I waited for this particular drivetrain since the model’s introduction. However, I have since been fighting Lariat envy, what with the 360 camera system, leatherette seats, upgraded sound system, and electric rear window, although this trim level would have run about $8500 more. Furthermore, I generally find cloth seats to be more comfortable than leatherette or even leather and I can always upgrade the sound system. Can anyone offer some perspective on this mental dilemma?
Unless you have money to burn, the XLT is fine. My 2023 XLT is just fine.

Yes, I can assure you that every Maverick owner that owns a lesser trim model has Lariat envy. It is simply the best model in every way.

Some are honest and come out and admit it, but others are so deep in denial that they write multi-page diatribes rationalizing why they think their lesser model is better.
