I feel ya. I have the XLT/Lux package on order. I love the look of the Active-X seats, but my dog often rides with me, and she slides around on vinyl (yes, I know I could get a fabric seat cover). I would really like to have had the rear window as well, but have only used it on my ranger two or three times in ten years, so it wasn't a must-have. The additional tech (360°) isn't of interest to me either. I will end up disabling most of the driving tools (lane assist, etc.), and I still use my "manual" backup camera 👀 Something I hadn't noticed until recently is that on Ford's Lariat trim, you get that LED light that goes around the top of the headlights. Don't care for that either, it's a much cleaner look without it. Just justifications for my choice? Maybe. I just wish things were simpler instead of more complicated.

My point being it doesn't for the majority, but dealers throw it on to drive costs up and people falsely justify its usefulness. But yes, true!
It's a $750 package that doubles your towing ability. That's a hell of a good deal for anyone even if they don't think they would use it. It's nice to have plus you get the trans cooler and oil cooler.

My thought process exactly. In general, I have always found cloth seats to be so much more comfortable across a range of temperature conditions and softer seating to boot. I am looking at an aftermarket rear window replacement with a manual slider that is 2 inches wider than the originally available stock product (https://nagd1.com/products/manual-s...ompatible-with-ford-maverick-2022-2024-models), and they assure me that this window will fit the 2025 model. As far as the sound system, I honestly think it sounds quite good with decent highs and solid bass. I have been driving my Mav for about a month now and am loving it more and more, as I’m sure you will yours!

I have had my 2025 AWD hybrid XLT Maverick, complete with moonroof and the luxury and 4K tow packages, and actually quite love it. I waited for this particular drivetrain since the model’s introduction. However, I have since been fighting Lariat envy, what with the 360 camera system, leatherette seats, upgraded sound system, and electric rear window, although this trim level would have run about $8500 more. Furthermore, I generally find cloth seats to be more comfortable than leatherette or even leather and I can always upgrade the sound system. Can anyone offer some perspective on this mental dilemma?
I just got my 20-25 XLT AWD hybrid in the beginning of January, and when I took my first roadtrip I regretted not getting the Lariat... but only because of the adaptive cruise control.

it it is a feature I would only need 2-3 times a year but it would be nice to have.

It's not $750. You have to get the copilot with it! My point as to why it's a rip off. I agree 750 is a good deal.

I wouldn't call the ActiveX seats "tacky" per se but they aren't slippery when in them. Maybe if you were in the back but I'm not sliding around in these at all.
I love the seats. You do slide on the seats when you want to get in and out of the vehicle. For an advanced middle-aged man such as myself, entry and exit are much easier than with cloth seats. I can start my vehicle from the house and warm/cool the seats if it is absolutely necessary. Actually, a brisk slide in on leather-ette seats gets my "motor" running for the drive ahead!!!;):ROFLMAO:

I like my 22 Lariat with all the available options other than First Edition. I will say though in any temp above 80 the seats become less desirable as they do not breath and wet back conditions arise. I do however love how easy they are to clean with a simple wipe down. I also would forgo the sunroof as it’s not always nice on my bald head, 🤣. I really like the B&O sound system, the subwoofer is just enough for me. The power sliding rear window is used daily and I love the 2.0 turbo. I average a combined 28 mpg and regularly get 31-33 on the open road. For me the choice was easy in 22 as the msrp was $36400 and at that time a lot of dealers were charging a premium although I paid msrp. And $36400 for a new vehicle nicely equipped seemed decent to me and I am a very practical person. I recently drove a 2024 XL and frankly it drove similar to my Lariat. I personally like the extra pizazz the Lariat gives me. I plan on keeping my 22 for the long term and if the Maverick heads into the mid $40k range I probably will not buy it again. There will always be other good buys out there.

Now I really would have liked to have gotten the B&O sound system. I drove a '24 Lariat with it, but was not impressed at all, though in fairness, I was just test-driving and didn't have time to adjust it. All of the folks chiming in about how great it sounds now is giving me audio envy!

Yep, that’s why I use my A/C and keep the cabin at 74 degrees.

You can always tell Lariat driver's in the summertime. 😁
Doesn't matter here in the summertime it's 147 plus degrees inside the cab when it's 115 outside.
Sitting on non breathable material.
There's no air movement between the unbreathable material and your skin much less cold air from the air conditioner.
I live in SoCal. I drive 25k miles per year because of my work. I have to go into the Mojave desert daily, so I’m very familiar with 115 F temps. I’ve been doing this for 20 years, so roughly a half a million miles in a hot environment. I’ve owned cloth, leather, perforated leather, vegan leather, leatherette and old school vinyl. My biggest takeaway after all these years, is avoid cloth seats, if you can. If you have the ac cranked in a leather equipped car, you won’t be all sweaty.

On the flip side, if you’re already hot and sweaty and get into cloth seat equipped car, it only feels more comfortable to you because the seat is absorbing all of the sweat off of you, instead of the sweat beading up on the surface of the leather / fake leather.

This is gross. It’s very gross. After 20k miles, the entire car start to permanently smell like your particular brand of body odor. Other people smell it WAY more than you do. Even after getting a $200 full auto detail with upholstery shampoo, the smell is back in a week after the masking scents of the shampoo wears off because the sweat, bacteria and oils that cause the smell are not just in the fabric. It penetrates deep into the foam.

if you’re a recluse and no one else gets in your car, it would be fine to have a car that smells like ass 24/7.

But if you’re, say a real estate agent, where the customer experience -strangers that get in your car - determines whether or not you’re going to get paid, then cloth is out of the question.

is cloth more comfortable then leather in a hot environment? Sure. A little. Leather is uncomfortable -until the car gets cooled down. So for the first 5 minutes? Then it’s fine.

I’ll take leather over cloth every day. I’ll even take the new fake leather that comes in cars like the Maverick. The new fake leather is 100x better than 1970’s vinyl seats.

Ordered xl. Envy? No. Driving from here to there with good mpg. I kind of think anything over $30k for this vehicle is better off spending on used ranger. Mine was $25k
Why would I buy a used Ranger when I can easily afford a new one? or better yet, why would I buy a Ranger at all? I bought a $38k Maverick Lariat because I wanted a small pickup. I didn’t want a big pickup. I wanted something that fits in my garage, is easy to park in an urban parking lots, is narrow enough to fit on overgrown fire trails, and is not a cheap econobox. The affordable price of the Maverick Lariat was simply a nice bonus - a similarly equipped Ranger lariat with fx4, tow package, spray in bed liner and cargo management rails would be $51,855, a full 36% more expensive than the Maverick.

There are airbags on the sides of the seats for those t bone accidents.
Really? I always assumed that the side bags were mounted in the doors.
