Excellent idea. Preliminary research at eTrailer was under $55 for one they claim works for an Explorer. $76 for a Maverick, they show different part numbers.
They have different ones and will also sell Curt models. Might need to compare and check current prices.

Call it what you like. In the 13 pages I scrolled thru here, no one offered the OP a solution, many tried to convince him what a bad idea it was, but offered little help. At least my post is on topic, yours isn't.
Perhaps no one offered a solution because the modification in question may or may not be illegal. Just a thought.

Just an update for the dangerous types out there. I rewired the truck so as to make lane centering work with a trailer attached. I pulled a camper trailer out from Connecticut to Montana and back, the last part being a 27 hour sprint. It worked great especially toward the end!

Curious to know if you still have the anti sway feature available after redoing your wiring.

To tell you the truth, I wouldn't know. After driving and towing trailers for many years sway is something that happens and is naturally reacted to. But if I had to guess, I would say it does as it is much easier in my opinion to relax and drive with all the auto features function.

I installed a 2nd trailer plug (retained original) and 1) wired trailer tail lights from the original plug, 2)signal/brake from the factory rear signal light housings (right and left) (I switched 2 of the taillights over to LED), 3) battery recharge from one of the two circuits Ford provided for options, 4)ground to chassis. On my 23 model year Maverick even with a factory trailer plug, Ford did not provide trailer brake wiring even know they recommended trailer brakes at 1600 lbs trailer weight, so 5) I installed a "Autowbrake" and used the same on the 2nd trailer plug of my 25 Maverick to control the brake circuit.

Yeah I skipped right to the end without reading pages 1-13 and guessed Ford disables it on purpose. Imagine the truck computer trying to figure out when the trailer starts swaying- sounds like super high possibility of an accident.

I didn't think this would go over well, but in 1994, why did all vehicles require a high mounted brake light? Maybe because that is where most people's view is and not 10" from the ground (trailer lights). Anyway my truck has a triple flash high mount brake light and a mix of LED and incandescent (on each side), the mix is visually effective since the LED are on instantaneously and the incandescent eventually come, so a small light show. But the answer is yes, I chose keeping the vehicle center over redundant brake lights. And surprise no detectable handling issues or to the extreme, loss of control. If the vehicle wanders outside of the lane and contacts another vehicle it is my fault for unsafe lane change. If someone drives into the trailer for no brake lights on the trailer, the firs question would be "Didn't you see the 5 brake lights on the truck? Hard to say no.
Then why are trailer brake lights mandatory in 50 states?

Sounds like a lawsuit the trailer driver would lose.

Yes I agree this is most likely a liability and not a capability issue. My 22 Maverick does not disable this feature when towing and it really works great.
People seem to gloss over this response. My 22, from the few times I have towed, seemed to have it remain active. The backup nannies are disabled, but the lane centering and acc still worked

It's not been glossed over it's just that it's been answered in previous posts. For 2025 Ford deleted Lane centering when Towing on the Maverick in 2023 or 2024 they deleted it on the F-150

Where you able to fit the RV-7 socket above the OEM flat-4 on the same bracket, or mounted elsewhere?

HRG
My truck came with a 7 pin connector due to 4k tow package. I installed a 2nd one to the left in the plastic trim.

Try to stay on topic and not get confused with the ancillary writings. This post is for the lane centering feature that worked on a 23 Mav and was never recalled for dangerous conditions, but is disabled on a 25 Mav. when towing a trailer.
