So if your occupation payscale is $50.00 an hour, and because there is a labour shortage you are offered your same job only at $75.00 an hour and you take that job for a 50% pay raise who's the scumbag?

Exactly, I guarantee even Jim Farley could care less about Ford Dealers overcharging. Every single manuThat's the beauty of capitalism: overcharging IS A BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. Eventually people stop buying from the business that is charging more than others and they change or go out of business. There is nothing that you or I have to do, other than not buy from them. It's bananas that you are literally stating this yet the concept totally alludes you. There is nothing immoral about charging more, but it may end up costing you business.
Yeah, no. Not what it stands for.Mandatory

So I guess the last package of TP on the shelf gets auctioned to the highest bidder or the medicine that protects you or if a medical necessity to keep you alive should be sold to the highest bidder? And next week you will complain about why there is inflation. Part of the problem is greed.I'm with the school of thought that dealers are free to mark up their stock vehicles as they see fit. However, retail orders are a different story. If you verbally tell me msrp, then I expect you to honor that.
No, I was only talking about car sales industry. Everything else should be handled by rock, paper, scissors... Best out of 3.So I guess the last package of TP on the shelf gets auctioned to the highest bidder or the medicine that protects you or if a medical necessity to keep you alive should be sold to the highest bidder? I went to my dealer today since they had a free hamburgers for their customers. They had one XL on the lot that sold immediately. I asked who bought it and the replied was an older couple that ordered one but did not want to wait; they paid $5,000.00 over MRSP. Actually they had two, the other one also sold but did not as about details, but no doubt, $5,000.00 over as well. I ordered mine so i paid MRSP price.Had 4 salesmen call me today regarding a Maverick XLT. First began with $5k over msrp of $29k. Then $7,500, and then $10,000. We finished out at $42,700 and I laughed at them and requested to be placed on the do not call list. Some smart person went in there and paid like $12k over asking shortly there after. People really need to stop paying these prices.![]()
Comparing TP and a frivolous purchase of the hottest vehicle on the market currently is ridiculous. Also, by your logic, you're lumping together all brands and types of TP, recycled TP, 1 ply TP, 2 ply TP 3 ply TP, no name store brand, high end. By your logic we're talking about NO vehicles available whatsoever to purchase which is far from the case. There are so many cars to buy out there, so many at MSRP if you really want, so many below MSRP if you really want. Dealers near me are selling 2021 leftover Hyundais, Fords, Mazdas, you could walk in there tomorrow and say, hey, I didn't get the hottest freaking vehicle on the market because I was dumb and didn't order one but I can get a good deal on this Hyundai since I apparently NEED a vehicle. People who NEED something don't have the luxury of being picky which is what you're implying. So I guess the last package of TP on the shelf gets auctioned to the highest bidder or the medicine that protects you or if a medical necessity to keep you alive should be sold to the highest bidder? Yeah I bet they gave all their employees 25-40% raises too right? No, their operating costs haven’t risen like everyone tries to claim. My ex-wife is a controller for the largest automotive group in Virginia and I specifically asked this. She said they are just ripping people off because they can, plain and simple. This is someone who does their financial management.Sure they will, so what is the problem? There is absolutely zero love lost for car dealerships from me, but that doesn't lessen my confusion for these posts. This is one of the foundations of our economic system. Yep, sometimes some people will pay more (their choice), but it eventually corrects and balances out - do you have a better system?
While the cost of these vehicles, to them, has not necessarily risen, keep in mind these dealerships are experiencing extreme inflation in their operating costs just like consumers are and the lack of inventory makes their business much more difficult. Even if that weren't the case, I never badmouth businesses that seek max profit - I invest in them. I'd be a complete hypocrite if I whined about these practices while simultaneously owning stock in thousands of these businesses.
Wonder how this will actually pan out. I contacted an attorney after my order price is wasn’t honored, they couldn’t do crap. The state attorney general on Tuesday announced he has sued two related car dealerships, accusing them of deceptive pricing practices.
Attorney General Peter F. Neronha said that Grieco Honda, of Johnston, refused to sell vehicles at the advertised prices, instead adding a $5,000 "addendum fee" to the price.
Neronha also said that Grieco Toyota, of East Providence, advertised "wholesale" prices, a term that is forbidden in car ads.
Neronha seeks to have customers reimbursed for the amount they overpaid, as well as fining the dealers up to $10,000 for each violation of the state's Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fines that could total more than $1 million.
They sent me pics of the guy getting into the truck and what he paid. And you know this, how?
So gullible.
Might be worth the effort, but highly unlikely.report them to FORD and they will be on the list to get their allotment cut![]()
