I thought the manual gave instructions on how to reset the codes. What do you mean by "factory code"?

You can use the onboard menu in the information center to reset a code.

It is not possible to erase or change the factory code.

the only option is to add/erase user created codes.

Does anyone know if the keypad is wireless or hard wired. It looks different than the wireless ones I have seen of the Bronco.

Here is a video I just saw that has instructions on the keypad. Looks pretty easy.

You have to reprogram the computer with a scan tool that can do it.

Maverick is hardwired; in the assembly video floating around this site and YouTube, you can see at the factory that a stamped cutout is in the drivers door vs ranger for instance, which is just an adhesive dealer installed option that runs off its own battery.

That's good news as one can no longer reprogram the wireless keypad like in the old days with the ignition key. Gotta go to a Ford dealer or someone with the special tool. Thank you.

Ma manual says no.....even if you program a new code, the master code will always work. I hate that! Can't stand not have control over the keypad system.

Went to the dealership. One service advisor said it could be changed. Went there last Monday to get it done. Another service writer said it can’t because it’s burned into the PCM. I would have to change out the PCM.

Saturday I pulled off the drivers door panel. Found the connection to the key pad and disconnected it. Now it doesn’t work or light up 👍

No adverse effects from it being disconnected. I will reconnect it when I trade or sell it.
