and to confirm - you aren't in habit of accidentally doing that already, right?
like you get out and think the truck locked your door, but for some reason can get in other doors?

With truck in park (my hybrid lariat) in ready state set ebrake get out. Walk around, go in house get cola. If you want to lock truck shut door and within 3 seconds lock truck with keypad. Truck will stay running for max idle time. (Locking with keypad tells truck you know combo to get back in). Seems like one time I took key fob and locked truck with it but have to do that while still next to door. Then in my xlt lux I leave truck running with key in, put in park, set ebrake (apparently turns exit toot off), get out leaving door open get mail out of box about 30-40 feet away. If you shut door you get single toot. (I have not tried key pad lock on this truck as haven't set code).

Just pretend that sound is your wife saying she wants the 2 of you to go visit her mother for a week. I promise you won't even know it is making a noise, you will tune it out.

I leave the key in mine at home. Secure garage. Close the door, it stops.

Is that a keyless entry thing?

I've started truck and gotten out, no EPB enabled, nor auto-enabled.
(and yes, avoided the lock lever!)

I got out of mine with it running, no Ebrake set to get the mail. I even moved it forward in the driveway with the door open and no seatbelt.

Ohhhh - maybe you'll have opportunity to test that whole no auto-door lock over 12 mph if door is open but truck is running!
