Offroadx,

I don’t have time to find it for you but if you review all of these videos of Oscar Leroy, I’m sure he has a solution for the same peeve that you have.
It’s very important to post things of critical importance like this for all to know just what keeps you up at night.

I've had this same problem. Was thinking of just leaving the fob in the car and using the keypad on the door. Oh, wait, that dealer installed option still hasn't arrived, after 10 months. Plus, I think that with the fob inside, it might not be possible to lock the vehicle. Anybody have any ideas on that? I'm in California, so don't ever need the remote start.

I had that exact pouch from Canadian Tire, and it was pathetic. Try closing it and then trying to use the door unlock and you'll notice that there is still sufficient signal leaking from the pouch that it is failing to do its job. Now I use a small tin and it works far better.
I noted this also, but actually find it convenient. Key only works at close range so I don't actually have to get key out. But otherwise will let car sleep if I'm just active nearby. Occasionally it won't let me start car when in the car.

I never actually had a problem, but I figured I'd never use an alarm function and didn't want to risk accidentally setting it off. So what I did was open up the fob and pop out the button from the case. You can still set it off if you stick your finger inside the shell, but it's much more difficult because it's recessed.

Still think as myself and others have had issues from accidently activating from pants or coat pockets brushing up against anything........its rather poor design that could been alliaviated by having buttons bit more recessed.

Will see how new cover does once received next week.

Apparently you have a defective one. My wife and I carry ours everywhere every day in my pocket on key rings and in her purse never had an issue.
The same here, I've only set mine off twice in the 8 months that I have owned it and that happened when I was digging it out of my pocket.

Open your driver door, everyone gets out that needs out.
Close door. Put fob somewhere safe.
Lock all button on door.
Open your door.
Push the lock lever right above open handle.
Close door.

Or just lock it thru the keypad.
Once you get it.

I have a Lariat with the fob and only have had one accidental alarm incident with it and thats because I was carrying something heavy that was resting against my pocket where the fob was. I've seen several folks here complain about it so I don't doubt it is an issue bit it's never been a big deal for me.

After setting mine off a few times, I've simply learned to always have the buttons facing towards leg, when inserting it into my pocket. I've only every had it 'panic' when the buttons were facing outwards, which exposes them to easily being pushed should something hit your pocket. - I also have a carbon-fiber silicone cover on mine, however it doesn't physically cover the buttons, and only wraps up over the trim around them.

My fob was triggering the panic alarm ALL THE TIME. I dripped some superglue into the cracks on both sides of the alarm button, it hasn't gone off since. I wonder if it would work if I really mashed on it.

Mine has never gone off either. Possibly not all made with the same parts.

I can't say for the other models, but my Lariat will refuse to lock if the fob is inside the vehicle. Also, leaving the fob in the vehicle only works in a world where there are no car thieves, so its probably only an option at the North Pole.
