I have a spray in bedliner that keeps the majority of items were they are unless my driving habit has changed. Having a flex bed just a properly cut to length 2x6 in the first set of slots makes a difference divider or divides the bed up to keep things near the tailgate.

I liked that and was planning on that before taking delivery. Afterwards many items that I keep in the bed jack stand, hydraulic jack, jack's handle, hitch extension, two hitch receivers all stay in place. The only item is the jack sometimes rolls forward. I keep a 1x2 with a screw for a hook from my F150 in the back. It lays flat to the side for easy access and allow large items to stack on top. The few times may be twice in a year that it has rolled forward I ha e used that stick to easily bring it back. So I never actually used a 2x6 or found a need to divide the bed. I'm thinking the spray in bedliner is the reason for this. Or I have been driving really, really good LOL.
I have the spray bedliner and the rubber mat on the floor. The only time there is an issue with sliding is when my wife drives. Then it’s not really a slide, it’s more like a tumble. If you get my point

I used a 2x10 with hinge in middle and carpet to help with the fit. Easy to put in and take out.

Is this something you made-- and what's the panel material?
Thanks.

I have two under the sleeping bed totes that fit side by side in bed and can be reached, pulled out with tailgate down. They slide forward in bed towards cab and there is enough room between them and tailgate to put case of Costco water between them and closed tailgate. Can fill them with groceries, etc and the totes can fit into a gater four wheel cart.

Hey, Y'all.

If all you are doing is trying to keep a bin or cooler from sliding around, a piece of 2x is a little overkill. Besides, you may have a SO or can't lift it up. I've found a simple chunk of 1.5" PVC pipe works well. Lay it flat or hang'm high. Simple, inexpensive, lightweight, easy to lift stuff over (with tonneau cover on). Easy out of the way when you don't want it.

John,
Do you have a picture of your pull out tray?
For me, when using a 2x6. The storage area between the board and tailgate is way too small. It only gives you 15 in of storage.

In answer to your question is...
Yes I made my pullout tray.
I specifically made it, the same size as the storage area behind the second row seats in my wife's Escape. 90% of the time that area is enough storage area for us when we go shopping. Cutting around the wheel wells was the toughest part.
I wanted mine to be light, so I could slide it out onto the tailgate covering the Tailgate Gap. It's
I made it out of particle board.
Home Depot had a piece that was the perfect size. I had them cut it for the upright portion.
Wood, piano hinge, attaching hardware and discounted unwanted paint at harbor freight. Total out the door, less than $30 ?

At 70 years old with not a great back. I'm not lifting stuff out of the bed while bending over the tailgate.
Rather than dragging stuff across the Tailgate Gap and possibly getting hung up there. I wanted something that I could pull to me that covered the gap.

This is the only reason I keep the bed extender in the truck, it is flipped back and keep[s everything within arms reach.
When it does get removed and I forget to put it back I have a bunch of ratchet straps in the bed glove box and run it behind large items (5 gallon water jugs), for smaller items I bought the net

I am looking for a way to keep items near the tailgate for temporary storage in my 2025 Lariat with a bed cover. Any suggestions
I Cut a 2x4 and stuck it in the bed cutout notches.

I like a basic ratcheting cargo bar. Combined with some collapsible storage crates, it handles loose items and can be quickly reconfigured on the fly to stow bigger stuff.

By far to simplest way to keep stuff separated in the bed.i have two in mine

@Glen Baker LLC I made this one out of a 2X6 and rounded the corners, then drilled the holes. It goes in and comes out really easy and is suprisingly light.

Your 2x6 looks nice, with the holes, which lightens the weight. The handles and rounded ends are great for easy removal.
Using a 2x6 a 2x4 or 2x10 does not solve MY issue of too little room between the board and the tailgate.
. I found the 15" of storage space from the board to the tailgate to be inadequate for our shopping needs. My design gives 27 inches of storage area. I didn't like having to bend across the tailgate multiple in order to pull items out of the back. When I can pull the whole tray to me once.
And if I need the full bed. I pull out the end brackets, the front portion lies down and I can use the whole bed and have nothing to store.
