Finally in production, but I've officially read all the things, and watched all the videos of all the things. I thought about learning a new language so that I can re-read this forum in something other than my native tongue. That seemed extreme, so instead I'm...... reading the manual. 533 pages - I'm not sure if that's only the New Testament or if they have the historical stuff in there as well. (In the Old Testament, the Maverick was a compact car.)
How do you make an instruction manual span 533 pages? Well so far on page 17 they are defining the Left and Right side of the vehicle. I think it's good to set a framework and fully ground yourself in first principals before you just go off explaining Apple CarPlay. Otherwise when they reference the infotainment screen in the dash one would never be sure if they meant THIS dash, or the dash of my Pacifica, which I had to buy while waiting for this Maverick. How can I afford 2 vehicles? I can't, but it's okay because I took out a 5 year loan and so the Pacifica will be paid off long before I need to deal with financing the Maverick.
Where was I? Oh yes - first principals. So anyway the manual goes on for many pages to lay a framework around your data privacy. It would have been simpler to state that you should have absolutely no reasonable expectation of data privacy when pairing your phone to the vehicle, but then the manual wouldn't be as comprehensive and you might finish it before delivery. Why am I still typing? It's been a few minutes, let me check the FordPass app and see if my truck in in transit yet.
[Sorry! FordPass isn't responding. Please stop trying - your battery is almost dead and frankly you're starting to look a bit desperate and it's gross.]
