I first want to thank everyone that has or is on this forum. I have been on here since 2022 learning about the Mavericks.
I saw last year a preview of a different restyled truck not much more in price than a Lariat and others are getting for the 2025 model year. . I only drive 5 miles to work so I started looking for this model year truck and I had a great offer on trading in my 2022 Ford Xlt FX4 AWD Maverick. It had 4k tow , and luxury package also. It had 21,400 miles on it.

This last Saturday I picked up a 2025 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x in Boulder grey pearl with convenience package. It has spray in bed liner, heated seats and steering, 12.2 screen, locking differential, surround cameras, adaptive cruise, locking tailgate, hill descent, 400 watt inverter in bed, 2 120 outlets inside, push button start, wireless phone charger, wireless car play, led lights in the bed, under seat rear storage.
One of the best features is a naturally aspirated 3.8 liter making 310 hp. This is a proven combination with the 9 speed automatic.
This is the only mid size without a turbo now. Looks super easy to work on in the future under the hood. Which has hood struts.
I feel more safer in the bigger Frontier than the Maverick. Plus there is more inside room and the bed is bigger.

I know I won’t get the mpg’s I was getting in the Maverick but it’s well worth it.
The bed on the Maverick was 33 cubic feet and this is 40.
I know what some are thinking Nissan having issues, but that’s the time to make a deal.
$45,000 out the door, minus my trade.
I received in the 20’s for my Maverick and had them throw in all weather mats. And I had a 2” lift on it and was going to take it off to sell it and didn’t have to. They didn’t seem to mind about it.
Good luck to all and thanks for all the learning, advice, and enthusiasm.

Oh and I traded it in with the back up camera recall. Happy I didn’t have to go to dealer again for another one.
Also get 2 years of Maintenance free.
The tailgate comes with a dampener and the inside the bed has one rail inside the bed and also one towards the back of the bed for the adjustable cleats. Cool thing is the cleats are removable and can be installed in which ever rail you need.

Nissan has had their issues but most of it with their crappy CVT transmissions. You shouldn't have those issues with the Frontier. It should be a solid truck for you. It all depends on what you need. I don't need a bigger truck myself.

Steering is completely feel the same in both the Maverick and Frontier.
Right- Its only 1100 pounds more- Sadly it came in dead last in TFLs truck shoot-out for that category. Hope it works out for you.

My Maverick was $36 and the Frontier $45.
Well worth the extra money. The Frontier also has Stainless exhaust.
Pay for what you get sometimes.
Except you only got $20K...and you paid $45K...so about double. I also have to wonder for $45K if you could not have moved up to a full size pickup? I see 2025 Ram 4wd 1500's for low $40's.
Happy for you...but not a good deal IMO.

I stated in the 20’s. Didn’t give exact amount

Nice truck. I'm very curious to see how the Nissan product mix looks if this merger with Honda is actually consummated. What will they do with the Frontier and the Ridgeline overlapping. Not to mention all the duplicative cars.

Poor Honda. The Nissan merger was forced on them by the Japanese government.
The Honda CEO says it is “difficult to explain” why the merger with Nissan would be good for Honda.

https://www.autoblog.com/news/honda-ceo-struggles-to-justify-a-merger-with-nissan

The short story is that Nissan has something like $5 billion in bonds coming due in the next 12 months, no way to refinance the debt because their credit rating is “junk debt” and they are not generating enough revenue to repay the bonds due to their collapsing sales. Nissan profits were down by 90% in 2024 and ended the year by announcing 9,000 worldwide layoffs and closures of plants in Aguascalientes, Changzhou and Barcelona.

The best thing for Honda would be to avoid any business dealings with Nissan, let them go bankrupt in 2025-2026, then have one less competitor to deal with.

But nope, this merger is being forced upon Honda by Japanese politicians.

I looked at the Frontier first. But felt the cabin small. Then next up sat, drive a Maverick. Wow, the cabin felt hugh, large.
Price comparison is where Maverick became agreeable. Finding one, with my preferences was not easy. After searching the WWW, few phone calls, finally found this XLT I could live with.

I had been waiting for the new Frontier so as soon as my local dealer received the first Pro 4X he invited me in for a test drive.I really liked pretty much everything about the truck but the very heavy steering was a deal breaker for me.It might be fine for off roading but as a daily driver there was no way I could deal with that

That’s an awesome Chevelle!

But isn’t relevant to steering feel between Maverick and Frontier which is why I won’t post pictures of my 66 Chevelle, 69 Camaro, or 74 Nova….
O.K. Then send me a picture of your 69 Camaro, they are beautiful cars!

Yeah I looked at the Ford Ranger. I just didn't need a mid sized truck. Not to mention Ranger pricing started where my 2024 Lariat AWD ended. Nissan has passed Toyota In owner satisfaction I'm told.
Nissan Trucks are top of the heap for Imports. The Truck you picked looks nicely configured, I think you made a great choice.
I Bought the very first 2021 Bronco Sport to enter Western North Carolina in early December 2020.
A 'Pandemic' vehicle.
I had four recalls but I expected some of that buying a brand new model. I was already retired so the recalls were not really an Issue for me. The Bronco Sport was great, traded in for my Maverick that I wanted when I got the BS but alas, they were not yet available.
Only got 200 miles on my Mav, no recalls in the pipe so far. But It Is a third year vehicle so I'm hoping they got more of the bugs sorted. Like you, op the mpg's were not an Issue so I stayed away from the Hybrid Technology and am glad I did. My Eco 2.0L has all the power I need and then some.
I'd bet your Nissan will be like most Nissan truck's I've been around. It will easily reach a half million miles with regular maintenance and care.
This Maverick of mine may not be my last little truck, maybe one more. But I am super happy I found a truck Under $40,000 that was the size of the old Rangers before Big Blue Super Sized them.
FWIW, Mines Still prettier :'P
