I'm in the military and ordered my truck back in September, I know I was late to the game. Anyway, I had to change duty stations and I'm trying to look into changing my delivery destination. The dealership is basically dodging my calls, I even got corporate involved. All they did was the same thing I did, left a message with the dealership's General Manager and no call back. To make things worseile moving I got hit and my car is totaled. Now I'm down a car and still not sure if I can change the delivery destination. Anybody got any suggestions??

Well, not sure how good of a suggestion it is... but it may help if you have some friends at your old duty station. See if you can work out with one of them to drive to the dealership and call you when they are there... then they can hand over the phone to the dealer and .... well... at least they can't dodge that.

1. Thank you for your service.
2. dealership should really be ashamed. No way to treat a veteran or any customer at that.
3. continue to call every single number attached to that dealership. Every salesperson. Direct line to general manager. Call every service desk they have and financial desk until you get someone on the line and demand you speak to manager. Continue to call corporate as well as light up their social media and any public page they might have.

Thank you for your service.

Sh***y way for the dealership to treat anyone especially our military - I would let everyone know who the dealer is including the BBB.

Couple of options for consideration
  • Is the dealer close enough for you to drive it to your location?
  • Complete the deal virtually (don't give the dealer ANY of your money for high margin add-ons)and hire a transport company to move it for you.
  • If it is anywhere in the Charlotte NC or Columbia SC region PM me and I'll do whatever I can to help.

I would immediately start pounding on desks. The $1495 delivery charge is for delivery anywhere in the country. The best case scenario would be for you to simply get a "courtesy delivery" to your closest Ford dealer who will accept it. This is usually done through the fleet salesman at the receiving dealership. I think the going rate for them to prep the truck is about $250. Once the truck is delivered, you square up with the originating dealer who then notifies the receiving dealer to release the truck to you.

1st look for a replacement on the totaled vehicle to separate the 2 issues. Less stress that way. Do nothing about the vehicle ordered at that dealership while the 3-6 months go by. Then if/when that dealer contacts you to come get it- YOU get to choose if you want to find a way to buy & fetch it- otherwise pretend it doesn't exist and start looking for available Mavericks near your new location and buy off the lot or in-transit. That way you have at least 2 options and can move forward with life without worrying about the dealer who doesn't deserve so much of your attention right now.

Thank you for your service. I know you don't need any more hassling but I would send letter to at least the chairman of the dealerships corporation if not each member directly and relay that their dealership's manager as well as others are not returning your requests for communication. For probably the fastest solution for a vehicle perhaps you can disclose your new duty station and request that anyone in that area who has a maverick arriving and expects to refuse it can convince their dealer to transfer it directly to you. If not perhaps he can/will take delivery in his name "for delivery to you at your new duty station state" (that should prevent double sales tax but would be best to check with attorney and/or Florida tax office). Also contact Ford and request emergency priority change to "build mine right now" due to events beyond your control. Also if administrator verifies your status and creates a fund I would readily donate. Thanks again for you service.

Has it been scheduled yet?
If not just have the order transferred to another dealership.
If transferring or drop shipping isn’t an option have you looked at uship to get a quote on delivery from the dealership to your door?

Call your senator’s or rep’s office. You’ll be surprised how a simple phone call from someone in his/her office will get people jumping. Emphasize that you’re in the service.

Fire up the dealers Facebook page, get your fellow soldiers to as well. Yelp them too! If it’s at Ft Bliss I can help if you want.

I finally talked to my salesperson. He said they can deliver it to me for about $400. The dealership is in Fort Lauderdale, and I'm in Jacksonville, FL, So I'll probably just end up having my wife drive me down.

Thanks for your service...

This is still unacceptable. Write a letter to your Service's "Times" and ask for assistance. Write a letter to your Service's Senior Enlisted's office and ask for advice - I offer this thought because this may have occurred before and have a ready answer. AND write a letter to your Congressman.....
