Is XLT Luxury Package a must?

One big factor is if you want a spray-in liner or not. If you don't, then it ends there on the Lux package. If you want to save about $800 and get a good value, spend your money on the FX4 and Tow packages instead. If money is no issue, then Load it up.

We live in a cold climate and wanted the spray-in bedliner and hitch. Might have paid $500 extra for the features - outside of bedliner and hitch - offered in the lux package, not $2345.

Are they going to sell it to you for M.S.R.P. or are they going to mark it up like other stealers [dealers] are preaching?

$2000 over MSRP but may be able to negotiate on that. In CA I've seen dealers marking up to $5000 so 2K aint bad I guess. Dealers are marking everything up out here. Base model Honda Civics are selling for over $30K. It's ridiculous!

I have struck-out items in the above list that I have already on my XLT Maverick build or completely unnecessary for me as I live in a warm climate in Texas or just don't want or will add aftermarket or DIY myself.

On my XLT Maverick build I added:

Co-Pilot360 that includes the Full-Size Spare ($540)

400W/110V Inverter (Cab Outlet with USB in Rear Console) ($150)
I also added the "Manual Rear Sliding Window" ($155)
I can run an extension cord from the Cab outlet through the window to the bed

Adding aftermarket:
Bed Mat so "Bedliner – Spray-in" not needed or wanted

"8-Way Power Driver Seats" not needed as I am perfectly capable of doing manual adjustments

"Bed Tie Down Locking Rails" not needed. The tie downs in the XLT is all I need

Because I live in a warm environment I do not need anything heated

"Key Fob with Remote Start" not needed I will use Ford App for remote start

"Leather Wrapped Heated Steering Wheel" don't want it

"Trailer Hitch with 4-Pin Connector" can add for $100 to the XLT build

"LED Box Lighting" I will add either aftermarket or DIY myself

It's always interesting to see people say they don't want anything heated just because of where they live. I live in GA, and there are winter mornings where it is less than 20F outside. Either way, I tend to use heated seats here and there pretty much year round. It isn't always about being cold, sometimes it helps with aches. I have had heated steering wheels in several cars, too, and that is another thing I find myself using if I get cold hands.

That is not saying that $2345 is worth it for those features. I justified it by buying from a dealer that was 3% under invoice, saving $1500 and being able to remove the a la carte spray-in liner for $495 that I was buying anyway. I ended up at a price for an XLT Luxury Package that was not even $2345 more than my original XL build I was ordering locally - just because of the discount and reduced fees (GA allows dealers to charge however much they want for doc fees and mine was going to be $700).

My wife loves having heated seats even though we live in Southern California. It can be done aftermarket, but I’d rather not bother. All the other stuff in the package is stuff I would have added on anyway. It was a no brainer.

If you want a Maverick, I'd get the one that's coming in. You can always add the other stuff you want, or even just factory order one and trade in the one you buy now.

My 09 Jeep Grand Cherokee just met its end after 173,000 so I'm in a hurry to replace. I have an opportunity to grab one scheduled to hit the dealer in a week or so with all the options I'm looking for including the color but without the lux package. I figure I can always do a spray in liner later on and the one I would get comes with FX4 and AWD so that would take care of the tow hitch. I may even upgrade the cloth seats to Katzkin leather which I could even add heated seats if I wanted. I don't live in a cold climate so trying to figure out what else I would be missing out on that could not be added later on and that I would regret not having. Only thing I can think of is the 8-way power driver seat but is that enough of a deal breaker since I can't wait too long to be without a car. Any thoughts?

No you don't - they are all wants, none are needs, especially if you are in SoCal. AWD isn't even needed unless you are towing (and don't forget about the trailer brakes if maxing out). All the add-ons are how Ford makes $$$, most are/will be available averaging half the price. If you can get it now at MSRP grab it, as you might not get another chance anytime soon. If not MSRP try Ventura with no markup.

All I need to do is remote start with the Ford app and let the heater warm up the truck.

So yes I have no need for anything heated.

Well that's one way to go about it, yes, but these are nice things to have and at the deal I was getting - a no brainer.

Thanks for all the replies. Can certain items be added on as accessories by the dealer or only if added al la carte when ordering? I'd be interested in the spray in bed liner with Ford logo and the 110 V outlet in cab and rear truck bed.

I had to have it- my wife uses the heated seats in her Jetta nearly every morning. Northern California. I use the AC and wear shorts every day of the year
