Hey guys I just want to try to confirm my issue before sending it back to Ford for a warranty fix. Pleas turn up your volume before viewing.

Making a funny squeak noise during acceleration and I little rattle.

Do you guys think it's a CV boot issue or a motor issue?

Mine would rattle/shake getting upto highway speeds then gradually go away as you let off pedal.

Yes, your CV axle is bad, one of my axles did this at 20k, replacement was free at dealership.
just call em, tell them you suspect bad CV axle and describe what's happening. they should get you in next day and have your truck ready by end of day.

If you drive like this too long it may wear down your drivetrain mounts. Mine was always stock height so im not sure being lifted has anything to do with it.

I'm slightly lifted... Just a leveling lift in the front. I'll make a call and see if they are willing to order parts first before I drop it off
Any updates on your truck? Mine is doing the same thing!! So messed up I have to take my truck in with 20k miles to fix this bullshit! I’m assuming it just keeps happening, this a bad design? Probably need a better aftermarket part? Otherwise we might need new ones every 20k miles?! Ugh

I just looked under my truck... Goopy grease all over the passenger side CV joint by the engine... What a mess... Will call Ford tomorrow so they can order parts and get it fixed... My question is do they fix both sides or just the messed up side? There should be a tsb or recall or this... Whack!

That sucks dude. I put mine on a lift and took the wheels off and looked at everything. Nothing leaking and no grease coming out of the boot. Mine is doing the same thing in that video, the weird @ss noise and vibration from hell…feels like the front wheels shake the entire front end under any decent amount of acceleration only. Lame as hell Ford! I’m so pissed.

Are you concerned this will keep happening? Seems like they need to get this figured out. I’m not rough on my truck at all. Wish there was a better aftermarket cv axle that was bulletproof. If I’m taking it to the dealer every year or two, then my Maverick is dead to me.

Check the thread about interest in aftermarket CV Axles.
The dealer will repair only the broken one if the other axle is fine.

I don’t think we can determine your issue. I would just take it in and get it verified.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

OP stated he looked under truck already and saw his CV axle had de-greased itself all over engine.

Im not concered. im sure we will get a solution either from ford or aftermarket thats a resonable price eventually. i have an extened warranty that will keep covering this, once its over, if ford hasnt already replaced everyone's with better designed unit with a recall then ill just go aftermarket.
