I'm trying to decide whether to put this on my '23 order. I am primarily interested in the lane keeping functions. The times I could really use it are when it's dark and raining. My aging eyes are stating to struggle a bit with that. Does the lane assist function well in those conditions, or does it need clear visibility to perform effectively?
IMO,
YES .. Co Pilot 360 is well worth waiting for. The lane keeping function works fine when it's dark and raining
Another thing I really like, is the BLIS ( Blind Spot Indicator System ) it works perfectly and turns on as soon as a vehicle disappears from your mirror ( off as well once a vehicle is back in view ) At 63 I need all the help I can get, if you see the BLIS light on , it saves you from having to turn your head to find a vehicle,is in that blind spot .
I have it in my 2022 Maverick .

I appreciate all the responses, but the primary question remains. If it's dark and raining, how capable is the system at identifying the lanes?
It works when it dark and raining. I live on Northern Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada. 200 km of rural highway with no streetlights . I highly recommend you get the Co Pilot 360 . I'm also an older driver, age 63

After a round trip from Michigan to Florida in my Lariat hybrid with CP 360, I found it to be a very good system for freeway driving. You need to have good lines defining your lane on the road or the system throws up its' hands, but the Lariat system does a really good attempt to keep you in the center of the lane, and will reset itself once the lines come back into view. You do need to keep some "turning" resistance on the wheel, or you get a yellow warning in the cluster, or later a red warning with a beep, if your grip isn't tight enough. I'm quite impressed what a few hundred dollar option can do for you. The stop and go side of ACC requires a little bit of trust - and schooling. I've found that if you're approaching a stopped car at more than 35 mph and can see that you need to stop, you should just deactivate speed control and brake to a stop yourself, but at 35 or less, the radar sensor is able to pick up a stopped car in front of you at the right distance so that it can slow you to a stop without excessive braking, and perhaps alarming someone who's following you. With speed control engaged, and the car in front of you slows to a stop with you at a nominal following distance behind them, the system stops are no problem on dry roads, and if you do come to a complete stop, a tap of the resume button or accel pedal will get you going again. There are situations where the car in front of you is turning out of your way (right turns), and after slowing for them, the system continues braking until they are completely out of your lane, so sometimes you will need to press on the gas to get the car going again. I will say that if you try and drive it in stop and go traffic with the speed control set, that this system takes a lot of the stress/frustration out of driving in that situation. If the lines are good on the road, you don't need to press pedals or steer much at all.
On the topic of camera visibility, I had one situation where a grasshopper smashed on the windshield outside of the camera, so I received warnings every few minutes that the system wouldn't work, until I stopped for gas shortly thereafter to see the bug smear on the camera.

I wasn’t planning on ordering the copilot, but after getting the truck I’m glad it’s got it. Insurance agent told me the safety features are what lowered my insurance so much, it will pay for itself within two years

I generally try to be really nice on this site. I'm gonna make one exception and say what I think on this subject, and it will offend some people. I'm cool with that. Feel free to offend me back.

We're 65 and 66, and we'll never be without driver assist features again (our Volvo XC40 introduced us to them). People who disrespect ADAS systems are frankly ignorant and can go pound sand. ADAS systems aren't yet perfect, but they stop human beings from crashing into other human beings on a daily basis. Enough said. They also have rare false alarms and can be annoying to some. That's fair to acknowledge - they ain't perfect, but they're dang good.

For seniors they're a no brainer. For arrogant drivers of any age who think they're perfect 24 x 7 x 365 (I don't think they're as perfect as they claim), ADAS is the feature that will keep them from having to lie to the police officer about who is at fault. For those people, the rest of us need dash cams, which is a feature sorely lacking on the Maverick and many other cars.

Soon as somebody starts ranting about how perfectly they drive, I start laughing. I've been around. I've seen you on the road. You're just lying to yourself. I saw you nodding at the wheel. I saw you eating fast food while driving. I saw you putting on makeup. I saw you reading the newspaper while driving. I see you every day texting while driving. You need ADAS - for me, not for you.
That's awesome.. well put couldn't have said or thought it better myself cuz I'm 68, not as razor sharp as I use to be with the eyes at night and so on.. so my Mav has Lane keeping assist and it's my first time using that tech and I'm really coming to love it after 6 mos. I think it IS vital and happy I got it. I use it every chance I get. ADAS is modern day fabulous stuff.. Love my Maverick
