I really like the Maverick. I like the simple, low cost, easy to clean and durable looking interior; I like her 200" length; her reasonably narrow body. I like her starting price; I like the utility of the bed, and the underneath storage feature of the rear bench seat. I like that Ford built integrated frame rails under the bed, and I like the Maverick's simple, yet durable, suspension. I had some concerns about the longevity of the base engine, but those concerns have been mitigated.

The thing I cannot get past - on paper, the Maverick has ample ground clearance - but her profile, when you look at the truck, it looks like a crossover, unitbody, SUV. Yes...it has the ground clearance of a truck, but her profile looks low to the ground. Some people might like a low step in height, but I prefer the feel of a higher step in feel of a body on frame truck. The Ranger is a little too costly for me, and the Ranger is simply too long; I won't go the Ranger route. But I cannot get past the "the Maverick looks like an SUV with a low step in height."

Am I alone with my visual impressions?
There are several companies offering lift kits out there, tie those in with a slightly larger tire/rim, and your golden!

I don't disagree. I just don't care about that. Could always put a lift on it 🤷‍♂️

I would say, yes. Yes you're alone. But that's not true. I'm sure others feel that way. I just personally disagree and don't think it fits what Ford seems to be trying to do with this truck.

The more I read on here the more I think that people aren't getting the market Ford was aiming to grab. This truck can't be all things to everyone.

Being lower profile and smaller than a 'normal' truck is kinda the whole point of the Maverick.

I think a lot of people just want a Ranger, at a Maverick price. Imo.

It’s not a real truck. If you want a real truck, spend the money and get a real truck. Seems simple.

Yep get a big behemoth that has to stop at every gas station and while filling up puff out chest and start pounding. Let everyone know your a “man” because you bought a “real truck” 🙄

Your first sentence had me laugh. Change a big behemoth to dog and then change gas station to tree.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The first time we saw a Maverick on the street, my 9yr old daughter commented "I don't want that truck, I want a big truck that makes me feel powerful". My response was "wouldn't actually being powerful make you feel powerful?"

I guess I make too good of a living, have too pretty of a wife, and have spent too much time competing in powerlifting and jiu jitsu tournaments to need a truck to be big, high, and gas-guzzling - with no functional benefit to me - to feel like a man. I'm fine with a "non-truck", even if my daughter isn't. If you actually need a big lifted truck, that's a different story and more power to you.

Who cares. Who ever has the most lug nits wins. If you cannot afford fuel walk or ride a bike.

I have real trucks, including a jacked-up Tacoma on 35's. I wanted a highway cruiser and grocery getter with a smoother, quieter ride and better mpg's.

Basically, the Mav is my car and lifting it would defeat the purpose of a unitized trucklet

The only reason you need big truck is to haul trailer or take it off roading which you can do in bronco or 4x4 tamoca jeep etc...You can do mild off roading in fx4 maverick .. So really if your not hauling big 5th wheel or you dont haul stuff for a living then there's no need buy big pavement princess. Your just pumping your live savings away at the gas station. Thats just my view point though

Oh yes that’s the reason for buying the Maverick. I must not be able to afford gas.
Since I outright paid my Maverick off with cash and no loan.
