No I didn't. Good ideaHi DC1990 - did you caulk the seams where the bed meets the wheel wells? Or do you just live with whatever lodges in the crevice?

I'm totally in this camp! Ever since 1973!I know many people feel trucks are meant to get used and dirty, which I totally get. However I've always been fanatical about keeping my vehicles clean and I thoroughly enjoy it too. For me I just love getting up early on Saturday morning and washing the car by hand and adding some polish/wax to it. Is anyone else here that weird?![]()
My Maverick is a week old but it handles loads of manure nicely. Plenty of cat and raccoon prints.I know many people feel trucks are meant to get used and dirty, which I totally get. RE: Caulk bed seam - I have a black SIBL so I used black 3M automotive grade seam caulk. I used a dental pick to clean the debris out, and a vacuum to pick it up as I went. I cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol, then applied the caulk using an ordinary painter's caulk gun. It looks so much better than the open seam where you could see the ground under the truck. What was Ford thinking? No I didn't. Good idea
Forget a clean Maverick. Let's talk about that Xtreme in the profile pic. Had a 2000 Xtreme extended cab step-side in red. Best mini truck hands down!!! You could take a curve fast holding the steering wheel with one finger with hardly any body roll. Literally couldn't go anywhere without someone stopping to ask about it. Those were the days (young and dumb and plenty of money(before a wife and kids)). So many stories of getting pulled over in that truck. Been looking for one to buy but all I can find are ones that have been badly abused.wash-dry-park in garage-stays REAL clean
yeah,I was into EL Camino's until my last one (#5 1986) got stolen. So,I bought an Extreme and have been buying beaters and restoring them-they sell pretty good-I am on #6 now(nice body, needs head gasket) and yes, they go around corners like a CorvetteForget a clean Maverick.
